  11.          The enclosed programs and  data  files  are  a  DEMONSTRATION
  12.          VERSION   of   The  Patient  Management  System  (PMS)  being
  13.          developed by Personal  Computers  Unlimited  (PCU).   PMS  is
  14.          copyrighted  by  PCU but is being released as "SHAREWARE" for
  15.          evaluation purposes.  ONLY THE DEMO  VERSION  may  be  copied
  16.          and   distributed,  and  only  in  its  unmodified  form.   A
  17.          complete  registered  version will be available in early 1988
  18.          and will  include  a  detailed  instruction  manual  and  the
  19.          capability of registered owners to produce their own clinical
  20.          simulations  using  the  PMS  system.   Anyone  interested in
  21.          further information on the PMS  should  contact  PCU  at  the
  22.          above address.

  24.          The  DEMO Version will operate ONLY in DRIVE A: and all files
  25.          must  reside  in  this drive.  PMS will operate in one of two
  26.          possible modes - educational  or  testing.   The  educational
  27.          mode  provides  for  user  interaction  and  feedback on each
  28.          patient management decision made as it  is  made,  while  the
  29.          testing  mode provides only summary information on the user's
  30.          decision making at  the  end  of  the  simulation.   Complete
  31.          instructions  are  available  at the beginning of the problem
  32.          and should be reviewed by all new users.

  34.          Once the problem is completed, a  summary  of  all  decisions
  35.          made  and the user's score is displayed on the screen.  Also,
  36.          a detailed discussion of the case  is  presented  along  with
  37.          appropriate  literature references.  If a printer is attached
  38.          to the computer, a copy of these  summaries  can  be  printed
  39.          and reviewed.

  41.          PLEASE  NOTE:   This DEMO Version has been extensively tested
  42.          and is believed to be free of major "bugs".  However, if  you
  43.          find  problems with the program or have suggestions on how it
  44.          can be improved, please forward those to our address above.
