  3.                 PC Magazine Labs Benchmarks Release 5.0

  6. The BENCH5.EXE file is a self-extracting archive.  To install the
  7. benchmarks just copy BENCH5.EXE to your preferred drive and
  8. subdirectory and type "BENCH5".  You may also log in to the drive and
  9. subdirectory and type "A:BENCH5".  The following files should then be
  10. created:

  12. BENCH.EXE      - The benchmarks programs
  13. VGAHDW.EXE               "
  14. EGAVGA.EXE               "
  15. PRSPEED.EXE              "
  16. PRSPEEDN.ASC             "
  17. PRSPEEDW.ASC             "
  18. FLOATMIX.EXE             "
  19. BENCH.KEY                "
  20. WINBENCH.EXE   - A Windows benchmark program
  21. REGISTER       - Form to send in to register for future updates

  24. To run the main benchmarks program, type "BENCH".

  27. Command line parameters:
  28.  
  29. GO   - bypasses the initial logo screens.
  30.  
  31. AUTO - starts the benchmarks in automatic mode.  The processor
  32.        tests will cycle through one at a time.  This option uses the
  33.        BENCH.KEY file.  NOTE:  A reboot is required to end AUTO mode.

  35. LCD  - Uses black-and-white attributes.  Use for forcing better display
  36.        legibility on laptop computers.

  40. the main menu Help option.

  45. The WINBENCH.EXE file is a Microsoft Windows program written by Charles
  46. Petzold.  You need Microsoft Windows to run it.  To run the program,
  47. start Windows and execute the WINBENCH program from the DOS executive.
