THE EN PASSANT RULE AND DRAWS
EN PASSANT
Psion Chess recognises En Passant capture and will use it itself.
En Passant capture can only occur when a player moves a pawn two
squares forward to avoid capture by the opponent's pawn. The
opponent can capture the pawn just as if it had only been moved one
square instead of two. The option to capture the pawn en passant
must be exercised immediately, before playing any other move, or it
lapses.
DRAW
A draw is declared if stalemate occurs, if a position is repeated
three times, or if no pawn is moved and no piece is taken during 50
consecutive moves.
PRESS SPACE TO RETURN TO FIRST PAGE, ESC TO EXIT
