- SHAREWARE
-
-
-
- Under the shareware concept you are allowed, in fact encouraged, to freely
- copy, distribute and share this program with others as long as it is not
- modified in any way and is accompanied by the disk documentation files.
-
- Unlike public domain, shareware is copyrighted but the free distribution
- of the software allows you to try it out before you buy. The cost of
- advertising is eliminated, allowing you to obtain high quality software
- at very reasonable prices.
-
- As some old versions of shareware programs tend to hang around RBBS's and
- User Groups for some time, the program and price quoted are subject to change.
- DataMicro, Inc. reserves the right to make improvements and price changes
- without notice.
-
- Free distribution does not mean a program can be used forever without payment.
- If you like it and you use it, you should order the registered version.
-
- The 'Prophet Cards' produced by this (shareware) program were designed for
- commercial use (to sell). They are not to be distributed except by registered
- owners, and in fact the message 'UNREGISTERED' is printed on the card.
-
- This is a fully functional version of LOTTO PROPHET, and nothing has been
- removed that would deprive you of a complete evaluation of the program.

- PHILOSOPHY OF LOTTERIES
-
- ARE THE ODDS REALLY AGAINST YOU WHEN YOU PLAY LOTTO ?
-
- First, let me state that this section is my opinion of lotteries
- and how they operate. The figures and odds given here are my
- opinion and do not necessarily represent the odds available in
- any given lottery.
-
- How many times have you read about what a sucker bet playing a
- lottery is, or that the odds are 10 million to 1 against you,
- etc....
-
- Well, let's tell it like it really is. If the state lottery pays
- a return of 50 cents on each $1.00 collected, it sounds to me
- like the odds would be 1 to 2 against you, not 10 million to 1.
- The doom and gloomers only quote the odds on the top prize of
- lotto. They forget about the 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes.
-
- Maybe you think odds of even 2 to 1 against you would begin to
- get the best of you after awhile! What if the state decided to
- have a reverse lotto and for every $1.00 collected it would add
- another $1.00 to the pot, thus making the odds 2 to 1 in your
- favor? WOULD YOU PLAY ?
-
- YOU WOULD ? ? ? Then why don't you ?
-
- EXAMPLE: (using averages and round figures)
- Let's say that in a normal weekly drawing $2 million worth of
- tickets are purchased and the payoff is 1/2 of that or $1
- million, but there are no winning tickets. Then the $1 million
- would be rolled over to the next drawing etc....
-
- For the purpose of good conversation let's say that the carry-
- over pot has reached $3 million. For this drawing the state has
- collected another $2 million. The payoff, if there is a winner,
- is $4 million.
-
- Let's figure the odds. If $2 million is bet and the payoff is $4
- million, it sounds to me like the odds are 2 to 1 in your favor !
-
- "HOLD ON", you say, "Someone had to put all that money in the
- pot."
-
-
- "THAT'S TRUE! But it was not you or I." (only play on rollover !)
-
- As we travel together through the LOTTO PROPHET program and
- documentation we will try to uncover other ways to have the odds
- in our favor when we play.

-
-
- HOW LOTTERIES OPERATE:
-
- Now for some information about how lotteries work and especially
- the lotto type games where you select the numbers you wish to
- play.
-
- The DAILY PICK 3 is basically copied from the old illegal numbers
- game which was played in all the large northern cities in years
- past. You would select three numbers from 1 to 999, pay your 25
- cents, or whatever, and if your numbers matched the last three
- numbers of the stock market's ending daily investment amount or
- some other number that could not be manipulated, you would win
- about $100.00 depending on the odds. The numbers had to match
- exactly in order. (Example: a selection of 639 meant that 639
- had to come up in that order to win).
-
- To cover the three numbers so they would win if they came up in
- any order 396, 963, etc., the player could "Box the numbers".
- Instead of the bet costing 25 cents the same three numbers would
- cost $1.50 and the numbers would win if they came up in any of
- the 6 different ways that they could appear.
-
- The new legal state lotteries do tend to work the same way with
- some small differences. With the new legal state lotteries, you
- select 5, 6, or 7 numbers (depending on the rules of your
- lottery) from 1 to say 40 or 49 etc. The state or other lottery
- commission also selects the same amount of numbers from
- within that range. If your numbers each match their numbers,
- 'YOU WIN' the Jackpot or at least share in the Jackpot.
- You would also win a limited amount of money if you picked 5
- out of 6, or even 4 out of 6, etc.
-
- The lottos are all different in that one state may select 6 numbers
- from 1 to 36 and another may select 5 numbers from 1 to 40, etc.
-
- The best way to select numbers for lotto is by avoiding the use of
- birthdays, or a lot of small numbers. These types of number
- selections are common and increase the likelihood of having to
- divide the 'Jackpot' when you win. Using numbers randomly selected
- by computer is the best way to avoid outside interferences that
- may effect number selections.
-
- The 'stats' section of LOTTO PROPHET can help in your number
- selection, since numbers do tend to repeat, to go on hot streaks,
- and to come up often with certain other numbers. It is better to
- select numbers that are going to win, than to play numbers
- because others are not selecting those numbers.
-
- The best way to win the lotteries is by using both good number
- selection by computer randomization, plus pattern checking by
- statistical research. Having Lady Luck on your side helps too!

-
- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-
- LOTTO PROPHET was developed for the IBM Personal Computer and
- operates properly on most compatible computers. The system
- requirements are very simple:
-
- 1. MS-DOS or PC-DOS, Version 2.1 or later.
- 2. At least one 360K floppy disk drive.
- 3. A printer, for producing the reports and Prophet Cards.
- 4. The program will operate much faster from a hard disk.
-
- OVERVIEW
-
- DataMicro's LOTTO PROPHET is a sincere attempt to increase the
- interest and the pleasure of individuals and groups who like to
- play the lottery by helping keep a record of numbers picked as
- well as recording the previously called lottery numbers.
-
- The LOTTO PROPHET has the ability to maintain all of the State,
- Canadian 6/49 and Australian Gold lotteries at one time.
-
-
-
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: DataMicro will provide 6 months of support
- with the initial purchase of LOTTO PROPHET and 3 months additional
- support each time you get a new upgrade. The best and fastest
- way to get technical assistance is by telephone. (813 629-7720)
- 9am - 6pm Est, Monday thru Friday.
-
- As you will see, programs that deal with numbers are very
- difficult to explain in writing. PLEASE, WHEN YOU CALL BE
- AT YOUR COMPUTER AND HAVE THE PROPHET RUNNING. THANK YOU !!
-
- GOOD ADVICE: This program is completely menu driven and is very
- easy to follow; however, the documentation is not that easy to
- comprehend by just reading it. My advice is to read over the
- manual once to discover what the program can do then use the
- manual only as needed to learn one section at a time.

-
-
- FILES, FILES & FILES:
-
- Before we start into the operation lets talk a little about the files
- involved with LOTTO PROPHET.
-
- In past versions of this program most of the technical support
- questions I received were about files, file ID's, numbers, names
- etc..and in particular PROPHET, NUMBERS, LOTTO and PRESET files.
-
- Prophet.* files hold the dates and the numbers of the past drawings
- for a particular lottery (Example: Prophet.21 is New York 6/54)
-
- Preset.* files are created by the specific statistical routines listing
- the numbers in an order of preference (Example: a Preset.U* would
- hold the numbers that appeared the most often in that order).
-
-
- When we talk about a file number, in almost all cases we are talking
- about the extension. (Example: the number of the California
- Prophet file is 2 (Prophet.2). If the program asks you to enter the
- number of the file you want to use, and you want the Florida Fantasy 5,
- enter 38 (for Prophet.38).
-
- When you see a * in the file ID as in Preset.S*, it means the
- file ID is Preset.S plus the ID of the LOTTO for which it was
- created. (Example: * = 2 if it was created for the California Lotto
- (PRESET.S2)). The * is a wild card character in this documentation.
-
- The most difficult file to understand are the Number*.* files probably
- because of the star dot star on the end. Numbers*.* files are created
- by Key's Wheeling systems and the Utility Section. The Number*.*
- files hold the games that have been selected for the purpose of
- on the lottery. The star dot star on the end of the name identifies
- the lottery that the numbers were selected for (1st. star) and any
- unique identification you assign.(2nd. star) (Example: Numbers28.T1 and
- Numbers38.T1 could be identified as files for the Florida lotteries
- but the 28 indicates it was selected using Fla. Pick 6 information and
- the 38 indicates it would be for the Fla. Fantasy 5). All of this may
- seem superfluous but at times I find 50 or more Number*.* files on my
- disk, it sure helps to know 'what's what'.
-
- IMPORTANT: When the program asks you to enter the number of the
- Number*.* file to use, you must enter the number before the dot and
- the ID after it. (Example: 38.T1 or 28.T1. with all other files in
- this program only enter the ID after the dot which is the extension).
-
-
-
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 9
-
-
-
-
- I know it makes it hard reading, but when you ask for a program that
- will do this and that and do it for all existing Lottos at one
- time it does get a little hard to follow at times. To make it as
- easy as we can, we will try to put notes throughout the manual and
- give a lot of examples.
-
-
-
- LOTTO PROPHET has the ability to house the Prophet, Numbers
- and Preset files from 60 or more lotteries all at the same time.
- To assist you in keeping track of these files, you can get a
- instant file directory listing, at almost any prompt that requests
- you input a file ID, just by entering 'DIR'.
-
-
- NOTE 1:
-
- We will try to use the term GAME or GAMES throughout this
- documentation to describe the minimum amount of numbers that it
- takes to buy 1 lottery ticket. (Example: IN MOST STATES YOU WOULD
- PICK 6 NUMBERS (1 GAME) TO PLACE ONE BET).

-
- General description:
-
- Basically the LOTTO PROPHET is in eight modules:
-
- 1. The File Control Section controls:
-
- a. The lottery history files by allowing updating, editing,
- reviewing and printing all the past numbers.
- b. The creation of new lottery files.
- c. The Lotto files printed by date also provide a list of...
- 1. Numbers that repeat from the previous draw
- 2. Sum of digits
- 3. Mean average of drawing
- 4. Median average of drawing
- 5. Number of winners
- d. The Skip/Hit chart is also available here
-
- 2. The Statistical Section produces reports based upon numbers
- such as:
-
- a. The numbers that have appeared the most during all the
- lottery drawings, or for any specific number of weeks or
- drawings. (Hot numbers)
- b. The numbers that have appeared the most when other
- specific numbers have been drawn. (Example: The
- report tells you which numbers appear the most when the
- number 18 was drawn).
- c. The numbers that have appeared the most in any specific
- month. (Example: What numbers have appeared the
- most in all the past months of June).
- d. Power/Due numbers that have appeared an above average
- amount of times but have not appeared recently.
- e. The numbers that are historically the most likely to follow
- the numbers selected in the last drawing.
-
-
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 11
-
-
-
-
- 3. The Holdum/Checkum Section controls the actual playing of
- lotteries by storing the selected numbers and then checking
- them against the lottery number drawings:
-
- a. Holds, checks and prints the numbers for three (3)
- lotteries at one time (whether or not the lotteries have
- a file located on the disk).
-
- b. Each of the 3 lotteries holds the names of up to 8
- different players.
-
- c. Each player may have up to 6 scores recorded for each
- lottery. (You can enter a player's name two times and
- have twice as many scores, etc.)
-
- d. The LOTTO PROPHET holds, checks and prints the daily
- 3/4 pick, 5, 6, or 7 lotto picks, and even the Keno type
- 10 pick where the states select 20 numbers.
-
- e. Allows boxing of the daily 3 picks.
-
- f. Identifies the winning combinations.
-
- g. The Prognosticator's selections may be easily
- transferred to the Holdum/Checkum Section.
-
- 4. The Prognosticator selects the lottery numbers for you
- using the randomizer that can be seeded using an extract
- from your name.
-
- The numbers selected can be restricted to the 18 highest
- rated numbers in any of the 7 Preset files available.
- After the numbers are selected you receive an opinion
- of these numbers, again selected by the randomizer. This
- time your astrological sign is used as the seed or it can
- be randomized without the sign if you prefer. The opinions
- file can contain many different opinions and make the
- number selection much more interesting.
-
- SET configures the Prognosticator to the lottery you select,
- allows for random opinions and messages, lets you limit the
- amount of Preset numbers to use.
-
-
-
-
- 5. KEYS is an advanced, scientific wheeling system
-
-
-
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 12
-
-
-
-
- 6. DOUBLES & TRIPLES searches the history of the lottery you
- select and prints reports showing how many times 2 or 3
- numbers have appeared together.
-
- 7. UTILITY will build a Number or Preset file, merge Number files,
- color and password control and set drive B: for Prophet &
- Wheel files.
-
- 8. PRO.COM- Starts the program, controls the Password and checks
- the disk for Prophet files.
-
- Additional modules available in the Enhanced package:
-
- PROLOTTO is a super randomizer and evaluator designed for
- professional lottery players. It can produce up to 2000
- random number games with no duplicates and check for past
- winning number games. (Not in Shareware)
-
- LOTTOKEY is an advanced wheeling system including both Pick 6
- and Pick 5 wheels and a comprehensive Winners Evaluator. (Not
- in Shareware)

-
- PROPHET CARDS are generated by the Statistical Section and by
- the Prognosticator. These may be printed on 3 X 5 cards and
- include the numbers, names, opinions, etc. (Selling or
- otherwise distributing the cards are restricted to registered
- owners of LOTTO PROPHET).
-
- DATA GRAPH report is generated by the Statistical Section and
- is printed on full size paper. Basically it includes all the
- information from the Prophet cards but in a graphic format.
- Includes additional information including the frequency the
- numbers were drawn as a bonus or supplement number, the
- number of draws since last drawn, amount of odd and even
- numbers and the ending digits totals.

- GETTING STARTED
-
- 1. Immediately make a backup copy of the original program disk
- and put the original in a safe place. Place a write protect
- tab on the original program disk. THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS
- STEP CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH ! ! Since this program is
- controlled by password, you must have your UNUSED MASTER COPY
- of the original disk to go back to. In this shareware version
- it was necessary to include an escape password (TESTER) in case
- the password became unknown in passing the program to friends,
- relatives, etc.
-
- 2. To make a copy of the master disk, place it in the A: drive,
- place a new, formatted disk in the B: drive. At the DOS prompt
- type in COPY A:*.* B:. This will copy all the files on your
- master disk in drive A: to your disk on drive B:
-
- 3. To run LOTTO PROPHET on a single floppy system, remove
- the master disk from drive A: and place in a safe
- location, and move the work disk to drive A:. Then to run
- LOTTO PROPHET from the floppy disk, type WHEEL at the A> to
- extract the Wheels. Then type PROPHET to load the program.
-
- 4. To run LOTTO PROPHET on a 2 floppy system, have 2 formatted disks
- ready. Place your copy of LOTTO PROPHET in drive A: (DO NOT
- REMOVE THE WRITE PROTECT TAB) and a blank formatted disk
- in drive B:. At the A> type in the word FSETUP. You will then
- follow the instructions on your screen.
-
- To load the program place the PROPHET PROGRAM disk in drive A:
- and the PROPHET FILES disk in drive B:. From the A> type
- in the word PROPHET.
-
- 5. To place LOTTO PROPHET on your hard disk, type in the word
- HSETUP. This command will create a directory on your hard disk
- called PROPHET, copy the Lotto Prophet files to that directory
- and extract the wheels. From the C> type CD PROPHET.
-
- Then to run LOTTO PROPHET, type PROPHET at the C> prompt.
-
- In your Autoexec.bat file add the line PATH C:\PROPHET
-
- 6. LOTTO PROPHET was designed to be run on a hard or fixed disk
- because of the many program overlays and disk I/Os. If you
- do not have a hard disk try using a RAM disk if you have
- enough memory.
-
- The program is completely menu driven and was designed to be run
- with only an occasional reference to the documentation.

- PASSWORD CONTROL
-
- Password Control of the program is a very important reason for
- making a backup copy of your master disk.
-
- The first time you run this program, you are asked to enter a 6
- digit password (alpha, numeric or spaces). You must do this even
- if you do not want to run under password control. The purpose of
- the original password is to keep others from setting it up for
- password control without your knowledge, thereby locking you out
- of your program.
-
- You are then asked if you want to run under password control.
- If you answer 'no', the program will no longer ask for the
- password during startup and the only one that can turn on the
- password control is the one who knows the original password.
-
- If you answer 'yes' to password control, you are prompted for a
- password or 'change' of password during normal program execution.
-
- If you answer that you wish to 'change' the password, the program
- prompts for the old password and then tells you to enter the new
- password, and asks if you want to continue with password control.
- Your options are (Y)es or (N)o.
-
- If you are not running under password control and want to start
- using it select the UTILITY section of the program from the Main
- Menu then select 5 "Change Password Control" You are then asked
- if you want to run requiring a password. If you answer <Y>es,
- you are asked to enter the existing password. The purpose of the
- check for password here is to insure that the one knowing the
- password is the one turning it 'ON'.
-
- In this shareware version if you forget the password, you can
- unlock the program by entering the word - TESTER - when you are
- asked to enter the password.
-
- PLEASE ! ! MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM DISK AND
- THEN STORE THE ORIGINAL WITH THE WRITE PROTECT TAB INSTALLED.

- ╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
-
-
-
- The basic statistics are produced from the menu box
- located in the lower right portion of the main screen.
-
- After selecting one of these reports from the Main Menu,
- LOTTO PROPHET displays a list of the Lottery files currently
- on the disk and ask you to select the one to work with.
-
-
- Most reports track the total odd and even numbers.
-
- Most reports will also produce a Frequency List for ending
- digits.
-
-
- If you select:
-
- a. Numbers that have appeared the most with a certain number.
-
- 1. You are asked to select the number of your choice. The
- program displays how many times your number has been
- drawn and displays a list of the numbers that have been
- drawn most often with that number.
-
- 2. You are able to get a printed listing of each date and
- the numbers when your number appeared. The total amount
- of numbers displayed is equal to the amount of
- numbers normally selected in the drawing (normally 6).
-
- 3. After the numbers are displayed on the monitor, you are
- asked if you want to print the <C>ards, <G>raph or <N>o?.
- Answer <C>, <G> or <N>.
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 23
-
- 4. Next, the program asks if you want to print the TREND
- CHART. Answer (Y)es or (N)o.
-
- 5. If you run this report it will automatically produce a
- Preset.S* disk file containing a list of the numbers to
- be used to set the perimeters for the prognosticator's
- selections.
- * = the number of the lottery for which the report was
- created. (Example: If you are using Florida Lotto, a file
- called PRESET.S28 will be created)
-
- b. Numbers that have appeared the most in a certain month.
-
- 1. You are asked to select the number of the month of your
- choice (1 = Jan, 2 = Feb, etc.). Then, the program
- displays which numbers have been drawn most often for the
- drawings in that month in the past, back to day one. The
- total numbers displayed is the same as the other selections.
-
- 2. You are asked if you want to print the numbers. Answer
- (Y)es or (N)o.
-
- 3. As in (a.5) above this report produces the Preset.T* file.
-
-
- c. Hot numbers for the last '??' number of weeks, or drawings.
-
- 1. Enter the number of weeks or drawings that you want
- the report to reflect. This selection limits how far back
- the program goes to pick up the data to use in the
- report (Example, if you entered 10, the report would
- only have information for the last 10 drawings). The
- report would select all the past numbers if you enter a
- request larger than the number of total drawings.
-
- 2. Another good use for this selection is when state Lottos
- change the maximum number that can be drawn, say from 36
- to 40. This selection allows you to get the report
- from the date of the change. You can also get the
- printed reports for this selection.
-
- 3. As in (a.5) above this report produces the Preset.U* file.
-
- d. Best choice for the next draw, based on Power/Due.
-
- 1. This report uses a routine to select and assign a Power/Due
- rating to the numbers, based on the frequency of the number
- being drawn used in a combination with the number of drawings
- since last selected.
-
- 2. As in (a.5) above this report produces the Preset.V* file.
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 24
-
-
- e. Numbers most likely to follow the last drawing.
-
- 1. This report does a in-depth evaluation of the numbers that
- appeared in the last drawing testing them in all of the
- previous drawings to see which numbers have historically
- followed them.
- These number totals are then divided by the total amount of
- times the number has appeared. A third, not disclosed
- evaluation, is then used to assign a rating to the numbers.
-
- This is a slow report to generate. A typical file of say,
- 75 drawings would require in excess of 1,000,000 computer
- evaluations to produce it. ( 2 to 4 minutes.)
-
- 2. As in (a.5) above this report produces the Preset.W* file.
-
-
-
- HOW CAN WE USE THIS INFORMATION ?
-
- Back around the turn of the 17th CENTURY a mathematician and
- astronomer by the name of Galileo provided his definition on the
- Law of Averages, and it went something like this:
-
- "Whenever something can have more than one result, if all the
- possible results have an equal chance of occurring, the
- results that will be observed in a number of trials will
- generally vary to some extent from the inherent proportions,
- but the extent of this variation will become progressively
- less as the number of trials is increased."
-
- If we follow Galileo's advice, we will select specific numbers
- that are on a hot streak for short periods of time only, and in
- the long run look for numbers that have been drawn the least to
- catch up.
-
- EXAMPLES:
-
- After 117 drawings of the New York Cash40 there had been 351 odd
- and 351 even numbers drawn. In stretch of 81 drawings of the Iowa
- Lotto there were 243 odd and 243 even numbers drawn, but in the
- previous 21 drawings there were 56 odd and 70 even numbers drawn.
- The 'evens' must have had to do some catching up.

- PROGNOSTICATOR
-
- The Prognosticator will select numbers for you one game at a time
- using the randomizer that can be seeded using an algorithm based
- on a numeric conversion of the letters in your name. Selecting #7
- these numbers are based strictly on fate, using all the numbers
- available in the lottery, with no pseudo manipulation. They will
- be scrolled in random locations in the display screen.
-
- In the above description of the prognosticator's menu you will
- notice that the number selections can also be limited to the
- highest rated numbers in any of 7 different categories. No numbers
- outside of these pre-selected numbers will be drawn..
-
- 1 = Hot numbers uses the 18 highest rated numbers in the Preset.U* file.
- 2 = Overdue numbers uses the 18 lowest rated numbers in the Preset.U*
- file.
- 3 = Favorite number uses the 17 highest rated numbers in the Preset.S*
- file plus the favorite number which is always the first number
- picked. (in the above menu number 15 had been selected, if no
- Preset file had existed for this particular lottery no number
- would have appeared)
- 4 = Power/Due numbers uses the 18 highest rated numbers in the
- Preset.V* file.
- 5 = Numbers most likely, uses the 18 highest numbers rated in the
- Preset.W* file.
- 6 = Numbers appearing in month of, uses the 18 most drawn numbers as
- listed in the Preset.T* file. (In the above menu, AUGUST had been
- selected. If no Preset.W* file had existed for this particular
- lottery the message NOT/AVAIL would appear instead of AUGUST)
- 7= Numbers you have selected to create the Preset.X** file in the
- Utility Section (Refer to Page 35 of this manual).
-
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 26
-
- NOTE 1:
-
- If any number is selected that requires a Preset file and none
- exists the Prognosticator prompts you to create the file, and
- then proceeds to randomize by fate alone.
-
-
-
- RUNNING THE PROGNOSTICATOR
-
- a. To request some games, position the cursor to
- the Prognosticator position on the Main Menu and hit
- 'ENTER'.
-
- b. Select the game you want to play 1 - 8. The Prognosticator
- will allow you to exit this section of the program by
- hitting the <esc> key.
-
- d. You are then asked to enter your name to provide a
- random seed for the randomizer, or you can just hit
- 'ENTER' and the Prognosticator provides the seed.
- Although a numeric derivative of your name would effect
- the output from the Prognosticator selections, even if
- you do not provide it, the numbers are still randomized.
-
- e. The next screen displays a list of the astrological
- signs with their related dates. You are asked to
- enter your sign to provide the seed in selecting
- a random opinion of the numbers. Again, you can just
- hit 'ENTER' without a sign selection.
-
- You do not have to provide your name or your sign for the
- program to run correctly.
-
- Prognosticator handles the single digit picks (3/4 picks 0
- to 9 daily numbers) differently than the double digit lotto
- numbers as they can be duplicated. The single digits are
- displayed in the order in which they were selected on the
- lower left side of the screen and are not sorted before they
- are printed on the Prophet Cards.
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 27
-
-
-
- Each time the Prognosticator is run the game is stored in a hold
- area, which can hold 6 games. If the prognosticator is run more
- than 6 times only the last 6 are stored.
-
- Actually there are 2 storage areas each holding 6 games one for the
- pick 5,6,7 Lotto type games and one for the pick 3,4 Daily games.
-
- These numbers will be made available to the Holdum section to be
- placed into storage, if requested before the program ends the
- current session. The numbers are lost if not stored before the
- program returns to DOS.
-
- d. PROPHET CARDS:
-
- 1. After the numbers and opinion have been scrolled on
- the screen you are prompted to print them, <Y>es
- or <N>o.
-
- 2. If you answer <N>o, the LOTTO PROPHET provides you the
- opportunity to obtain more numbers for the same name
- and sign without requiring you to re-enter them.
-
- 3. If you answer <Y>es, the program has been designed
- to print the reports on continuous form 3 X 5 card
- stock called "Prophet Cards". It is also designed
- so that once the paper has been set to the top of
- the form, no further adjustment is required when
- changing between the reports that use the cards.
-
- 4. The information contained on the Prophet Cards is in
- a format suitable for selling or giving away.
- They contain complete information on the report
- (Example: the state, the opinion, the numbers, date
- prepared, and good luck messages, etc.).
-
- 5. The printed reports look much better if printed with
- a printer capable of wide print such as a dot matrix
- printer. The reports can be printed on standard
- paper but look much better on 3 X 5 cards. These
- cards are available in colors from most office
- supply stores.

- ENTER NUMBER ?? ?
-
- After selecting File Control on the Main Menu, a FILE CONTROL
- Menu appears. You again need to select which lottery file you
- want to work with.
-
- a. Updating allows you to update the master file with additional
- lottery numbers and dates as they are drawn to keep your file
- current.
-
-
- 1. You are asked to enter the date (as MM-DD-YY) of lottery
- drawing or 'Q' to QUIT. If you do not enter the date in
- this exact format, the program will display the message
- "BAD DATE".
-
-
- 2. The program then asks for the numbers to be entered.
- Numbers must be entered as follows: The numbers 1, 5, 9,
- 13, 23, 35 would be entered '010509132335' (with no
- spaces, no dashes, no slashes), and single digits must
- have a 0 in front of them. If you enter an incorrect
- amount of numbers, the program will display a message
- such as "12 -=- 10" meaning you only entered 10 digits,
- when you should have entered 12.
-
- 3. Next you will be asked to enter any bonus numbers this
- lottery selects, and then to enter the total amount of
- winning (first place) tickets sold on this drawing.
-
- 4. If the dates entered are more recent than the last date
- entered, the program returns to the menu when the
- updating is finished. If a date was put in out of
- sequence, the program sends the master file to be
- sorted by date before returning to the menu.
-
- 5. When the program sorts the file, it creates a new sorted
- master file so the old file name has a 'B' (for
- backup) inserted in it and it is kept as a backup file
- (Example: File Prophet.4, would be changed to Prophet.4B).
- The new sorted file would become Prophet.4.

- e. The median average of each drawing.
- f. The sum of digits of each drawing.
- g. Produces totals on how many times each number has repeated
- plus the overall mean, median and sum of digit average.
-
- 3. The very popular Skip/Hit chart is available immediately

- c. Patching allows you to change any record.
-
- 1. You may change the date of the record, the lottery
- numbers that were stored on that day, the bonus numbers,
- and the amount of winners.
-
- 2. You are asked to enter the record number of the
- record you want changed or to enter 'R' to review the
- entire file.
-
- 3. After entering the record number, the date of that record
- is displayed (as MM-DD-YY) and you are asked to change it
- by re-typing the entire date or make no change by hitting
- enter. The record may be deleted by entering DE at this
- point.
-
- 4. The next prompt displays the lottery numbers that had
- been stored on that day, and asks you to change them
- by re-typing all numbers or to keep them unchanged by
- hitting enter.
-

-
-
- 5. Follow the same procedure for bonus numbers and the
- amount of winners. Enter a 'B' to blank a number.
-
- 6. When you have no other changes to make and you did not
- make a change to a date, you will return to the menu.
-
- 7. If you changed a date, the master file will be sorted
- by date, then you will return to the menu.
-
-
-
- NOTE 8:
- When you notice that an entire listing for a number is
- missing in the file, you cannot patch it in. You must
- enter it as an update and let the LOTTO PROPHET sort it into
- its correct location.
-
-
-
- d. Create or modify the configuration of a Lottery file/PROPHET
- file by selecting item #4 on the FILE CONTROL menu.
-
- 1. You are asked to enter the number of the file you
- want to create or change.
-
- 2. If the file exists, the following information is
- displayed:
-
- (1) Name of the lottery
- (2) Highest number drawn
- (3) Amount of numbers drawn
- (4) Number of bonus numbers
-
- 3. You are advised to enter the number of the line you
- want to change or hit enter to return. You can make as
- many changes as you wish.
-
- 4. If the file does not exist, you are asked to provide
- all of the above information and the LOTTO PROPHET
- initializes the file.

- HOLDUM/CHECKUM SECTION
-
-
- This section of the program is designed to, as it says, hold
- lottery numbers for the players and to check them against the
- numbers picked in the lottery drawing for winners. The LOTTO
- PROPHET not only holds 5/6 lotto picks but also handles DAILY
- 3/4 PICKS and KENO type 10 PICKS.
-
- The way the numbers are handled is decided by how large the
- largest number can be. (Example, if the largest number is 9,
- we must assume that the number selection is a single digit
- selection and that numbers may be duplicated within the
- selection). Above 9 numbers must be double digit with none
- duplicated.
-
- The Holdum/Checkum (hereafter referred to as H/C) can hold a
- total of 144 lottery selections broken down as follows:
-
- 3 Independent Lotteries
-
- 8 Players for each lottery
-
- 6 Scores for each player
-
- All 3 lottery slots could be used for the same lottery and have
- 24 players in it. If a player needed more than 6 picks, he would
- just use two or more player slots.
-
-

-
- a. Main H/C menu:
-
- 1. First to be displayed are the names of three state or
- other lotteries, or a 'not yet assigned' flag if the file
- has not yet been selected. Select 1 or 2 or 3 or to
- enter a 4 if the desired lottery is not yet selected or
- to change a file to 'not yet assigned' status.
-
- C A U T I O N ! ! After entering 4 and selecting the
- file 1, 2, or 3 the message indicating to use the word
- 'Clear' to clear the record will appear. Using 'clear'
- removes all of the players and their scores from the
- selected lottery. Entering a name changes the
- lottery name but leaves the players and their scores as
- they were.
-
- 2. Two of the questions that are asked during lottery
- assignment is amount of numbers you will be selecting and
- the amount of numbers to be drawn. The reason for these
- two questions is that some states are now playing a Pick
- 10 Keno type game where the player picks up to ten
- numbers and the state draws 20 numbers from l to 80, etc.
-
-
-
-
- b. The Player menu:
-
- After selecting lottery (l, 2, or 3) that you want, a list of 8
- player positions appears with the Player Menu below it asking:
-
- Do you want to?
-
- <A>ssign a player to a number
- <D>elete a player and scores
- <C>heck a player's scores
- <E>nter a players new picks
- <P>rint all players and scores
- <99>Return to Main Menu
-
- As you can see they are mostly self explanatory. After entering
- any of the letters except (99), return to menu and print all
- players and scores. You are asked to select players #1 thru #8.
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 33
-
- 1. If you selected (A)ssign, you are asked to enter the
- player's name in 15 characters or less. After entering
- the player's name the program returns to the Player menu.
-
- 2. If you select (D)elete, the player's name is replaced
- with the word UNASSIGNED and the player's associated
- scores are blanked. You are then returned to the
- Player's menu.
-
- 3. If you select (E)nter a player's new picks, a line of
- numbers (1 - 6) appears on the screen representing
- the 6 available slots for that player's picks. When
- storing a number you need not start at 1, but may store
- numbers in any available spot. You are asked to pick the
- location number or to enter a '99' to return to the Main
- Menu. Upon entering the line selection, a new message
- appears indicating how many numbers to select (Example:
- select 6 numbers from 1 to 40).
-
- 4. If the Prognosticator had previously been asked to select
- any numbers for this lottery, the numbers appear and the
- input message indicates that you may enter numbers now or
- just enter 'P' to use the LOTTO PROPHET's numbers. Either
- way they are stored in the selected location on the disk
- with today's date associated with it until the number is
- erased. The program recycles after entering the number
- allowing you to enter additional scores for that player
- until you enter '99' to return to Menu.
-
- 5. If you select (C)heck a player's scores, a message
- appears on the right side of the screen indicating for
- you to enter the digits now, equaling the numbers
- selected by the lottery. (Example, in a PICK 3 the
- request is for 3 digits; in a PICK 6 the request is for
- 12 digits, since a 4 is entered as 04). After entering
- the scores the LOTTO PROPHET asks if you want a copy of the
- printed results <Y>es or <N>o. This can be used to provide
- a copy of the results to others when the LOTTO PROPHET is
- used for group play.
-
- The program asks which player's scores to check and
- displays all his scores. If the lottery is a PICK 4, the
- program compares the drawing with the stored selection
- for an exact match. If there is no match, the word 'ZIP'
- appears by it. If it matches, the words 'YOU WIN' appear.
-
- If the lottery is a PICK 3, you are asked if the player's
- numbers are boxed 6 ways. If you answer (Y)es, the
- program compares the 3 picks in any way they can be
- arranged against the 3 pick drawing. The same message as
- with the PICK 4 appears.
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc Page 34
-
-
-
-
- If the lottery is a LOTTO 5 - 6 - 10 pick, etc., the
- numbers are compared the same as the PICK 4 but the
- message next to the number is '(number matching) out
- of (number picked)' (Example: 3 out of 6) indicating
- the number of matching numbers.
-
- After the program has completed comparing the first
- player's numbers, you receive the message 'Hit '99' for
- Menu or 'ENTER' to continue to check the rest of the
- players assigned to that lottery.
-
- 6. If you select (P)rint all players and scores, all 8
- player positions are printed two abreast on one page of
- paper. Again, this is used primarily to provide a copy of
- all scores when the program is used for group play.
-
- All in all the program works well for one person who just wants to
- manage his lottery numbers, but it is even better for a group of
- friends who like to pool their money to get a lot of numbers.
-
- The number of players that may be managed can be increased by
- loading another copy of the program to a sub-directory.

- DataMicro's Wheeling Algorithms
-
-
- Before we start learning about KEYS, let's talk a little on
- Wheeling systems in general, what they are, the Pros and Cons.
-
- Well designed wheels actually increase your chance of cashing a
- winning ticket, in some cases 500% or more, over selecting the
- same amount of games played randomly. At the same time the same
- wheeling system decreases and in some cases eliminates your
- chance of getting any more than one 4 out of 6 or 5 out of 6 hit
- on any wheeling group.
-
- Generally random game selection lends itself to playing less
- games than the wheeling systems. So it's up to you to decide if
- wheeling systems are for you. When we speak of RANDOM GAMES in
- this situation we are talking of playing sets of numbers that
- have no relation, one set to another. We are not talking about
- the program randomizer. In fact an excellent way to select the
- numbers field to use in a wheeling system is by using the
- randomizer as it removes any outside influences.
-
- I personally believe that using selective wheeling systems, along
- with the information available in the LOTTO PROPHET to select the
- field, is the very best way to end up winning some money in the
- lotteries.
-
- Approximately 9 wheeling algorithms are included with this
- program. Besides the routines included, this program also has
- the ability to load other wheels using the information from any
- other wheeling system of up to 50 numbers and 1000 games. If you
- want to learn more about them, and to add more permanent wheels
- to this system, there are some excellent books on the market that
- include hundreds of wheeling systems and talk in depth on the
- routines.

-
- Definition of terms
-
-
- WHEELING SYSTEMS or WHEELS, are nothing more than disk files
- which contain the numbers that describe the location and
- identifies the field numbers to be included in each game.
- (Example: WHEEL#.Z8 would contain 6 groups of numbers and each
- group contains 6 numbers. As this is a 12 number system,
- the numbers in each group would be 1 to 12 representing which
- of our 12 numbers would be in each game).
-
- FIELDS refer to the numbers used by the wheeling systems to fill
- out each game. (Example: WHEEL#.Z8 Field would contain 12 numbers,
- ranging from 1 to the maximum number that could be drawn in the
- lotto. When the program arranges the 6 games, no game will have
- any number other than one of the chosen 12).
-
- GAMES, SETS, COMBINATIONS or TICKETS are all interchangeable
- names, I played 1 game or I bought 1 ticket etc. It is the
- minimum level of investment in a lotto. I do tend to use the
- term SET and GAME when I'm talking about the numbers, and the
- term TICKET when I talk about actually playing them.
-
- KEYS, KEY NUMBER or FAVORITE NUMBER are all interchangeable names
- for one or more numbers that must be available in each of the
- number sets. (Example, if we were to use a wheel that
- required a KEY NUMBER, then that number must appear in all of the
- sets, and the KEY NUMBER must also be one of the numbers drawn to
- be assured of a winning wheel).
-
- WHEELS, GENERAL OPERATION
-
- Each wheel is kept in an individual disk file by the name of
- WHEEL#.*. All the permanent files included with this system have
- a 'Z' as the first letter in the extension. (Example: WHEEL#.Z1,
- WHEEL#.Z17)
-
- If you were to play Z8, which is a 6 game wheel that uses 12
- different numbers of your choice, the wheel guarantees a minimum
- of a 3rd Prize, if the 6 numbers drawn all fall in the field of
- 12 numbers you selected. How does this work?
-
- (c) Copyright 1987 - 1990 by DataMicro, Inc. Page 39
-
-
-
-
- Let's look at how that works. First, I display the numbers
- in WHEEL#.Z8 file and label the number sets (masks) in the
- file for reference purposes.
- mask 1 mask 2 mask 3 mask 4 mask 5 mask 6
- 01 01 01 02 02 07
- 02 04 04 03 03 08
- 03 05 05 06 06 09
- 04 07 10 07 10 10
- 05 08 11 08 11 11
- 06 09 12 09 12 12
-
- Now let's assume you wanted to use your favorite 12 numbers,
- (Example: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, and 34).
-
- KEYS would align your 12 numbers into 6 games or sets
- as so. (Mark your cards with these games.)
- game 1 game 2 game 3 game 4 game 5 game 6
- 12 12 12 14 14 24
- 14 18 18 16 16 26
- 16 20 20 22 22 28
- 18 24 30 24 30 30
- 20 26 32 26 32 32
- 22 28 34 28 34 34
-
- To further explain what we did, let's align the 3rd column
- together.
- 3rd wheel mask 3rd game
- 01 = 1st field number is 12
- 04 = 4th " 18
- 05 = 5th " 20
- 10 = 10th " 30
- 11 = 11th " 32
- 12 = 12th " 34
-
- Try to think of the numbers in a wheel mask as an address of the
- actual number you want to use in your game. In mask 3 above the
- last number 12 is the address if the 12th number in your field
- (Example: 34 is the 12th number in the field).
-
- You do not have to understand how these work to use the wheels
- but it should make it more enjoyable.

-
- DataMicro's Wheeling Algorithms
- Wheeling systems are a scientific method of using a set of well defined
- rules to accomplish some specific result, such as: If we select all our
- numbers from within a certain group of say, 12 numbers, and we play 18
- games, we want to align them in such a way that if at least 5 of the 12
- numbers from our group are drawn, we get at least a 4 out of 6 hit.
- Wheels do not decrease your normal odds of hitting 5 out of 6 or
- 6 out of 6. (see Manual.doc)

-
- * * * * * * * * *
-
- 'LOTTOKEY' is a wheeling system program extraordinaire! Not only does it
- include most of the world's greatest systems, it also allows you to add
- an unlimited amount of additional systems as they become available.
-
- BIG PICK3/PICK4: These are 2 independent, free standing programs able to track
- the daily numbers by compiling a record of them for up to 50 years, prints
- reports of the amount of times the numbers were drawn, and lists the numbers
- that have not been drawn. The programs will evaluate the drawings by each
- individual number and position it was drawn, and also maintains a transaction
- record by date of every entry.
-
-
- PROLOTTO will .......
-
- (a) Let you selectively produce random numbers based on pre-selected
- criteria. i.e.: The 20 numbers that have appeared the most often, only
- odd numbers, only 1 single digit number per game, at least 2 numbers
- over 31 per game, using only numbers that have appeared in the last
- 5 weeks, by range of sum of digits, etc...etc................
-
- (b) Compare the weekly drawing against these games, printing out the complete
- performance report, i.e.: 3 out of 6 for 20 times
- 3 out of 6 with 1 bonus 8 times
- 4 out of 6 3 times etc........
-
- (c) Compare these number*.* files against any of the Prophet.* history files
- for past matching numbers. (duplicates)
-
- (d) Compare any individual game against any Prophet.* history file and
- print a report on how the numbers have performed in all the past drawings,
- showing amount of 3 out of 6, 5 out of 6, etc.
-
-

-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- (e) Compare any 2, 3, 4, 5, number groups against any Prophet*.* history
- file to see how many times they have appeared together in any of the
- lotteries.(i.e.: check to see how many times numbers 7 & 11 have been
- drawn at the same time).
-
-
- (f) Compare any Preset.* file against any Prophet.* history file and
- print a report on how the numbers have performed in all the past drawings,
- showing amount of 3 out of 6, 5 out of 6, etc.
-
- (g) Compare any Number*.* file against another Number*.* file to check for
- duplication. Thus allowing you to create many thousands of games
- without an duplicates.
-
-
-
-
- LOTTOKEY will ........
-
- (a) Display and define the many wheeling systems provided with this program
- and explain the minimum prize you will be guaranteed should the numbers
- drawn fall within the field parameters of each wheel.
-
- (b) Allows you to create your own, or copy in, the many other popular wheeling
- systems currently available on the market. (unlimited amount)
-
- (c) Build disk files from the wheels so they can be evaluated by the PROLOTTO
- program for the number of winners, etc...
-
- (d) Allow you to play wheels with 0, 1 or 2 Keys or special numbers.
-
- (e) Allows you to play Pick 5 wheels
