  5.         processes beyond human capabilities.  Consider this:

  7.     **  Databases ... a 20-year-old method for manipulating very large lists.

  9.     **  Word processors ... a 15-year-old method for editing planes of text.

  11.     **  Spreadsheets ... a 10-year-old concept for changing numbers in tables.

  13.     **  Idea processors ... a five-year-old MaxThink <link61> method using
  14.                 outlines for conceptual, structural, and perceptual thinking.

  17.                 networks for generalizing, abstracting, and checking

  20. =====   Rather than putting a bigger crank on adding machines, opening file
  21.         drawers faster, or typing more beautifully, significant software
  22.         should change your view of your world or yourself, or put relevant
  23.         knowledge at your fingertips.  Textual databases <link26> and
