STIX Version 1.0 BILL BUCKELS REGISTRATION $10.00
GRAP SEP90 STIX DRAWING BUCKELS EDUCATIONAL CHILDRENS
FILES: stix100.sdn
New to SDN
Children's Sticker Art System and Cursor Key Drawing
Program. Uses the ZSOFT .PCX Image Format which can be
exported to other applications accepting the PCX format
including Desktop Publishing and Paint Programs.
There is almost total absense of written instructions and
clutter and the surprisingly few intructions required for our
graphics engine are primarily handled by ICONS and
easy-to-remember program sequencing.
The Opening menu has 6 ICONS activated by keys F1 through
F6. The ESCAPE key is always used as a "DON'T GO FURTHER"
function. The ENTER key is always used to INITIALIZE a
function and at the SHEET LEVEL pressing enter will update
the SHEET in MEMORY. The sheet is not saved to disk until F5
is chosen and ENTER pressed at the main MENU.
At the MAIN menu:
F1 selects a sticker to add to the Current Background.
F2 selects lettering to add to the current background.
F3 selects a new background from the libraries.
F4 clears the background from memory
F5 saves the current masterpiece. No typing is required.
F6 exits the program, and starts the kaleidescope.
ESCAPE returns to SHEET LEVEL. At The SHEET LEVEL, ESCAPE
returns to the MAIN MENU and LEAVES the SHEET ALONE.
To Produce HARDCOPY on a Dot Matrix Printer , Print the
Screen with GRAPHICS.COM (MS-DOS) in Memory.
F1: The Sticker Library is provided with 148- example
stickers and offers 6 Stickers per Menu Page. Keys F1
through F6 toggle sticker choices and the Escape key toggles
to the next page of stickers. Pressing the Enter key imports
stickers to SHEET LEVEL and the arrow keys move. The STICKER
LIBRARY index file is called "STICKERS" and can be added to
with a text editor. Blanks provided in PCX, BSAVED,and TIFF.
F2: At The SHEET LEVEL The letter size can be adjusted
with the page up and page down keys and the keys F1 through
F4 toggle letter color and shadow, and arrowkeys to move.
F3: The BACKGROUND library index is an ascii list
called PCXLIB which can be added to. STIX is shipped with
afew backgrounds which can be augmented by your own work.
When the program exits a kaleidescope is offered which
changes colors at a keypress. Escape will return to DOS.
UTILITY GBAS.EXE- A memory resident "CAMERA" called
GBAS.EXE which allows the GRABBING of GRAPHICS screens
in other programs.Saves a "slide file" in the BASIC BSAVED
IMAGE format. Easy to displayin a GWBASIC program.
UTILITY BASTOPCX.EXE- Provides BACK and FORTH
conversion between the BASIC BSAVED CGA GRAPHICS MODE IMAGE
FORMAT and EQUIVALENT PCX FORMATS.
UTILTY CGA2PCX.EXE - BACK AND FORTH CONVERSION between
2-color and 4-color PCX. This is necessary to export .PCX to
programs that don't support the CGA level of the .PCX format
in 4-color mode. The Output Format is ZSOFT .PCX format per
the VERSION 2.8 STANDARD without Color Map.
UTILITY VUX.EXE- A Commandline File Viewer For CGA
SCREEN DUMP images in BSAVED or PCX Graphics Formats.
