  3.                           Monitor control for the PC

  8.          When I first got my color monitor I was disappointed that DOS
  9.          didn't support color; later as my eyes started to go I was
  10.          able to develop COLOR which allowed me to set colors in DOS
  11.          and BASIC. Since variety is the spice of life all color
  12.          combinations are available.
  13.  
  14.          When I later got a monochrome monitor and card I was
  15.          disappointed to find that the simple switch type programs
  16.          were almost as big as COLOR and we never around when I
  17.          needed them so support for both monitors was added.
  18.  
  19.          Installation is simple.  Just run VIDEO one time when you
  20.          boot your PC and it will stay resident.  Immediately upon
  21.          executing it will switch to the color monitor (if both
  22.          monitor cards are present) and come up with a default color
  23.          of white letters on a blue background. You can then use the
  24.          following Alt key combinations to use VIDEO:

  27.          Alt-1 Cycle thru foreground colors
  28.          Alt-2 Cycle thru background colors
  29.          Alt-3 Toggle 80/40 column mode
  30.          Alt-4 Toggle between monitors

  32.          I chose these key combinations as they weren't duplicated in
  33.          any applications that I use. I hope they work for you.

  36.          Depending on the applications VIDEO colors will go away
  37.          during the application and will return when you exit to DOS.
  38.          The Alt keys are always active, so they can be used during an
  39.          application to invoke VIDEO functions, but you might have
  40.          unpredictable results.

  42.          The color set and monitor switch will work fine BASIC. Try
  43.          other applications and see how it works, but be prepared for
  44.          some hangups and other unpredictable results.

  47.          I've tried to test this program as completely as possible on
  48.          my configuration of a PC, a Persyst Bob card with Taxan 440
  49.          monitor and a IBM Monochome card with Amdek 310A monitor. If
  50.          you experience any problems using VIDEO on your configuration
  51.          or run into any problems feel free to drop me a line and I'll
  52.          scratch my head a bit.
