Important!
The DAYO module on this disk is in a self-extracting compressed format!
The size of the uncompressed files will exceed the size of this floppy
disk!
Most DAYO modules require the use of a hard disk, so you will need to copy
the contents of this disk onto your hard disk, preferably into a sub
directory ( ie: \DAYOPOS\ ).
Other requirements: IBM Compatible, 640k RAM, DOS 3.3 or above
*** We get numerous calls from new users because of (or lack of) their
CONFIG.SYS file. The file: CONFIG.SYS must exist on your boot
disk/drive, and must have (as a minimum), BUFFERS=10, and FILES=55.
Run a DAYO program to produce this file should you not have one, or
do not know how to create/edit it.
Decompress and print the file DAYOSM.EXE/ZIP which contains a text file
named SYSTEM.DOC. This document contains an in-depth overview of all
the DAYO Modules. DAYOSM.EXE/ZIP is found on many of the distribution
diskettes.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT EACH DAYO MODULE HAVE ITS OWN DIRECTORY:
\DAYOINV\ (for Inventory)
\DAYOPOS\ (for Point of Sale)
\DAYOTB\ (for Time & Billing)
\DAYOBO\ (for BackOrders)
\DAYOPB\ (for Price Books)
\DAYOQUO\ (for Quotes)
\DAYOAR\ (for Accounts Receivable)
\DAYOGL\ (for General Ledger)
\DAYOPAY\ (for Payroll)
\DAYOLU\ (for Database LookUp)
\DAYOAP\ (for Accounts Payable)
\DAYOEOP\ (for End of Period/Purge)
\DAYORPT\ (for Smart Reports)
\DAYOMRP\ (for Materials Requirement Planning)
\DAYOPAS\ (for Passwords)
\DAYOBAR\ (for Bar Codes)
\DAYOX\ (for Indexing)
\DAYO\ (for Update Program)
\DAYO\ (for Menu)
\DAYO\ (for Clock)
HOME DIRECTORIES FOR THE DATABASES
Every database is 'assigned' a DAYO module/directory as its 'home base'.
Knowing the location of the databases is crucial to integration of all the
modules. For example, to make all modules use the same customer database
(CUSTOMER.DBF), the 'CUSTOMER DATABASE LOCATION' option must be correctly
set in the Configuration Menu of each module that uses that database.
