  18. |CF4.QEDBAT |CF1.is a simple screen editor that knows something
  19. about the special keywords and syntax of MS-DOS and DR-DOS batch files,
  20. and also the command line switches of selected programs.
  21. Keywords are highlighted in different colors and syntax  
  22. err|UL1.|CF9.U|UL0.|cf1.rs, where detected, are highlighted in |CF9.|UL1.red|UL0.|CF1..

  24. The occurance of an error doesn't stop the
  25. user from typing in errors, the highlighting of
  26. errors is to aid error correction. Indeed, since QEDBAT doesn't 
  27. presume to know all the syntax that might appear in a Batch file, 
  28. it must not prevent the user from overruling any hints that 
  29. may be inappropriate or incomplete.

  31. QEDBAT does most of its syntax checks on a line by line
  32. basis as you edit that line.

  34. Strictly speaking, since there are minor differences between 
  35. the commands on different versions of DOS and on different brands 
  36. of PC's, there ought to be many customised versions of QEDBAT ... that's  
  37. something for the future!
