  3.     An earlier version of this disk was reviewed in the March 91 'PrintScreen' 
  4. (the journal of the Sydney PC Users Group - PO Box E162 St James NSW 2000 ). 
  5. The reviewer made a fairly thorough look at this 'new type of text editor', 
  6. indeed he noticed that there was a whole series of them. 
  7.  
  8.     Since the review made a few valid criticisms, a number of changes 
  9. where made to the Common ═╦═ LooK ═╦═ part of the program, which will 
  10.                           ╚═ FeeL ═╝                                  
  11. steadily appear in all the editors in the SMartEditor(tm) series. These 
  12. changes include: 
  13.  
  14.         1) Restoring the screen colors after the program terminates. 
  15.         2) 'Do something about the colors'       
  16.             Since the Changing Colors are an essential part of the 
  17.             QEDSME method of Quick Error Detection, it defeats the 
  18.             purpose of the program to use less color than is used 
  19.             already. Remember that only a proportion of the 256 CGA 
  20.             colors are distinct and legible, so that many colors are 
  21.             unused. 
  22.             However a new command has been added to turn 
  23.             the ═╦══ colors ══╦═ off, provisionally using the ALT-C key. 
  24.                  ╚═ QEDetect ═╝  
  25.             This new command is useful for three reasons not mentioned in
  26.             the review:
  27.               a) Allows the text to be read as plain text. 
  28.               b) Speeds up scrolling through the file. 
  29.               c) Allows the End User to compare ═╦═ Manual Error Detection ═╦═.

  32.         QEDSME SoftWare Laboratories's Ten Thumbed typist, Declan D. Thumb, 
  33.         already appreciates the new ALT-C command, because the text  
  34.         scrolling can be slowish with the QuickErrorDetection turn on. 
  35.         However, Declan's ManualErrorDetection is slower still.  
  36.  
  37.         "Catching errors by hand is very strainful." 
  38.         "Its like playing ═╦═ cricket ══╦═ in the Fogg."

  41.         This prompted QEDSME's Product Development Manager, E.T.PepperCorn,  
  42.         to name the new method of operation "Fogg Mode".

  44. Unfortunately, as the diskwas full, and these changes made the 
  45. programs longer, it was neccessary to remove one of the SMartEditor(tm).
