  31.                        The invasion

  35. A very long time ago, all life on a special planet, somewhere in the
  36. universe, were simple. Where there were life, it existed without being
  37. aware of itself. The survival of the individual and the own race were
  38. the only things cared for.
  39.  
  40.   Then one day they got visitors. Visitors from very far away, all
  41. depending on how you look at it. These visitors had one thing that the
  42. life on this planet did not have: awareness. Awareness of everything.
  43. They knew everything and they had seen everything there was to be seen.
  44.  
  45.   Still, the life on the planet had one thing the visitors did not have:
  46. physical bodies. With them, the visitors could do something they normally
  47. could not do. Reproduce.
  48.  
  49.   The visitors were made of pure energy and they had decided to make
  50. this visit permanent. They decided which of all life forms they would
  51. merge with, and chose this very much erected mammal.
  52.  
  53.   As time went on, all the visitors on this planet had taken control
  54. over one animal each as they reproduced. As two animals of which one or
  55. both had been merged with a visitor and together got themselves a baby,
  56. a new visitor had also been born and merged with it.
  57.  
  58.   Since the energy of the visitors were quite unlike the energy of the
  59. animals, just like radio transmissions on different frequencies, the
  60. merging of the visitors and the mammals were not complete. The visitors
  61. could manipulate the animals, but they could not actually and totally merge
  62. with them.
  63.  
  64.   Many thousand years passed, and the visitors got more and more
  65. adapted to their new way of living - as did the creatures. The animals
  66. evolved and transformed over the years into something new and different.
  67. The visitors gave the animals more powerful influences that caused their
  68. brains to grow totally out of proportion over the years.
  69.  
  70.   To this day, the visitors are still far from completely merged with
  71. their hosts. They still have the ability to leave the animal they control.
  72. The visitors have become very dependent of all the impressions the animal
  73. can give them. They are, because of this, more or less forced to return
  74. to the host.
