  42.                  The more I come to think about the question
  43.                of morality, the more absurd it becomes.  How
  44.                can  man  care  about  a thing like morality?
  45.                Through all history, man has felt a need for,
  46.                let us call it an excuse, for his behavior.

  49.                  The problem is that it is simply an excuse,
  50.                not a guide line for ones behavior.  It never
  51.                makes  any difference in the end.  There will
  52.                never be any changes in mans behavior because
  53.                he  can  not find any excuse for his actions.
  54.                He will simply invent a proper excuse for his
  55.                behavior.   Man  will  continue  his striving
  56.                for POWER and PROFIT whether he does it under
  57.                the  heading  Morality  or  not.   The  whole
  58.                question of  morality seems to me a little ad
  59.                hoc.    Why  bother   about  justifying  ones
  60.                behavior  when  it  is  already controlled by
  61.                such  strong  interests  as POWER and PROFIT.
  62.                The answer is that man has a strong desire to
  63.                feel  that  what  he do is the right thing.

  66.                  Take  the  example of USA's behavior in the
  67.                gulf-war.   Their excuse was the suffering of
  68.                the   Kuwaiti  population,  but   their  real
  69.                concern  was,  of course, the oil.  But would
  70.                the  UN  take USA's interest in the oil as an
  71.                excuse    to    kill   thousands   of   Iraqi
  72.                civilians?   My  point  is that even if USA's
  73.                interest  was  the  oil, it  was important to
  74.                justify the attack in one way or the other.

  77.                  Man  are  not willing to admit that he acts
  78.                from  feelings of greed or profit hunger.  It
  79.                is  much  nicer  to  think of the acts as the
  80.                normative  implications  of  some  "good"  or
  81.                altruistic  moral  theory.  This moral theory
  82.                does  not  have  to  be  a  whole  consistent
  83.                theory.  It is  often  a so called "Christian
  84.                Morality".

  87.                  The nice thing with "Christian Morality" is
  88.                that  nobody  can tell exactly what normative
  89.                implications  that  follows from it.  This is
  90.                because  it is not clear  which higher  rules
  91.                the normative implications is the product of.

  94.                  When  USA  is  acting  God in some conflict
  95.                they  do  this  with  the  excuse  that their
  96.                "Christian  Morality" demands this from them.
  97.                And  because  their morality is so "flexible"
  98.                they  can  use it as an excuse for almost any
  99.                behavior.   It  is  not  hard to see why this
  100.                "morality(?)"  is  so  useful  to USA and the
  101.                rest  of  the western world in their constant
  102.                attempts  to   become   God,  Master  of  the
  103.                Universe.
