  44. 9. Thou shalt not occupy thy BBS with thine arguments, for
  45.     Verily, I say unto thee that thou shalt maketh a fool of

  120. Tuesday ordered the seizure
  121. of video cassette-recordings of
  122. the anti-apartheid film
  123. "Cry Freedom", which was banned from
  124. cinemas two months ago.
  125.   Police said local distributors had
  126. inquired about selling the video
  127. cassettes and that illegal or "pirate"
  128. copies of the film already were being
  129. circulated in South Africa. "CryFreedom" tells the story of South
  130. African activist Steve Biko, who died
  131. while in police detention in 1977, and
  132. Donald Woods, a white newspaper editor
  133. who befriended Biko.

  184. he gives us his wish that this year
  185. we set some kind of vision for
  186. America. PAP strongly recommends you
  187. pay the 3/5/9 bucks to see him if
  188. he's scheduled to speak at your local
  189. college, RTM, or Bah Mitsvah.

  191. "Aids. 1 out of every 700 children
  192. being born in the city of NY, has
  193. aids. Born to die.
  194.   In 6 years they'll be dead. And you
  195. have to keep em alive until then.
  196. Who's gonna pay the bills?
  197.   We're keeping them alive, but we
  198. have nothing for them at the end of
  199. the line. We cant afford beds, we
  200. cant afford the hospitals, we cant
  201. afford the care; and you talk to me
  202. about peace and prosperity.

  204. and people are being killed savagely
  205. in the streets of our own country.

  212. say we have prosperity.

  214. 21st century's 12 years away, you can
  215. reach out and touch it; it's so close.
  216. 21st century's here. The work force of
  217. the 21st century's gonna be black,
  218. hispanic, women, and disabled; black,

  221. vulnerable population we have.
  222.   The drop out rates are fierce. You
  223. dont care; you're not black; you're not
  224. hispanic. You didnt drop out. Your
  225. sister didnt drop out.
  226.   You better care. That's YOUR
  227. workforce. If they're not here to work
  228. in the 21st century, YOU'RE NOT GONNA
  229. MAKE IT. Because this country will not
  230. be able to compete with the rest of
  231. the world.
  232.   And you know what happens when they
  233. drop out? A 15 year old girl? Drops
  234. out in the inner city area? Where does
  235. she go? She-does-not-go-to-the-convent.
  236.   She goes to her body. Where does the
  237. 14 year old boy go? he goes to the
  238. street. He sells crack. He gets in the
  239. business. He's a lookout for
  240. cokedealers. He gets 400$ an hour just
  241. for playing what we used to call in
  242. the old neighborhood chickie. Just for
  243. being a lookout. And he winds up in
  244. jail, and he winds up an addict.
  245.   And you're telling me, that the
  246. status quo is good enough??? I CANNOT
  247. say the economy is strong. I cannot
  248. accept that. Now look: you dont have
  249. to have a warden's degree to see
  250. you're being lied to.
  251.   It took╨k 200 years to pile up a
  252. trillion dollar debt. ok? Then we
  253. had a conservative government for 8
  254. years. In less than 8 years they add
  255. another ONE POINT SIX TRILLION DOLLARS
  256. IN DEBT. They nearly tripled it!!!
  257.   You're borrowing money from the
  258. Japanese, the Germans, the rest of the
  259. world. And every year you pay them
  260. interest. 155 billion dollars a year in
  261. interest. You dont have enough money
  262. for college loans, homeless people,
  263. aids, research, roads and bridges are
  264. falling. You "cant afford" health
  265. insurance. Free college, you cant
  266. afford it. Spleens, organs, you cant
  267. afford it. Yet you pay 155 billion
  268. dollars a year in interest.
  269.   Is that prosperity? Is that good
  270. enough for you? Of course not. 155
  271. billion; and it happened in 7 years.
  272.   I'd love to see Michael Jackson
  273. making videos telling the kids to
  274. not use drugs. The one thing I resent
  275. the most about our "war on drugs" is
  276. denying that it is complex.
  277.   Cuomo then recommended a few good
  278. books for the college aged "kids" to
  279. keep up on; and stressed economic
  280. relations with Japan. He also stressed
  281. that we need Africa as they are goin
  282. to be a very powerful 3rd world
  283. alliance when it comes to econ. He
  284. all-in-all gave us a vision for our
  285. country.
  286.   Let's get out there and form a
  287. more perfect union. kick ass.
