  16.    This memo provides information for the Internet community.  This memo
  17.    does not specify an Internet standard of any kind.  Distribution of
  18.    this memo is unlimited.

  20. The AM Domain
  21.  
  22.    The AM Domain is an official Internet top-level domain of Armenia.
  23.  
  24.    AM is the ISO-3166 2-letter country code for the Republic of Armenia
  25.    and thus the AM Domain is established as a top-level domain and
  26.    registered with the InterNIC the same way other country domains are.
  27.  
  28. Naming Structure
  29.  
  30.    The AM Domain hierarchy is flat. This means that any organization may
  31.    be registered directly under the AM TLD. Example: arminco.am.
  32.  
  33.    However, subdomains are allowed, such as ORG and MIL, as well as CO
  34.    and AC.
  35.  
  36.    Please note that MIL.AM and GOV.AM domains are reserved by the
  37.    Ministry of Defense and The Government of Armenia, respectively.
  38.    Other domains may be reserved for appropriate organizations by
  39.    contacting AM Network Information Center at HOSTMASTER@AMNIC.NET.

  41. Registration

  43.    There are two types of registrations (1) Delegation, where a branch
  44.    of the AM Domain is delegated to an organization running name servers
  45.    to support that branch; or (2) Direct Registration, in which the
  46.    information is put directly into the main database.

  48.    In Direct Registration there are two cases: (a) an IP-host (with an
  49.    IP address), and (b) non-IP host (for example, a UUCP host).  Any
  50.    particular registration will involve any one of these three
  51.    situations.

  63.    The registration is performed by the AM Network Information Center,
  64.    national Internet registry of Armenia. For more information about AM
  65.    Network Information Center, please visit:

  69. Requirements
  70.  
  71.    Anyone requesting to register a host in the AM Domain is sent a copy
  72.    of the "AM second-level domain registration template". It is
  73.    necessary to fill out this template and send via Internet e-mail to
  74.    HOSTMASTER@AMNIC.NET for consideration.
  75.  
  76.    The AM Domain template, is similar to the InterNIC Domain template,
  77.    but it is not the same.  To request a copy of the AM Domain template,
  78.    send a message to HOSTMASTER@AMNIC.NET.
