  14.                           NETWORK HOST STATUS
  15.  
  16.         This RFC reports on the status of most Network Hosts from
  17.    May 8 to May 19.  No testing was done on May 15 due to the attempt
  18.    to install the new IMP system on that day.
  19.  
  20.         During this interval the PDP-10 of the MIT Artificial
  21.    Intelligence Group (Network address 134) and the PDP-10 at
  22.    Stanford (Network address 11) each became Network Servers.
  23.  
  24.         Several Hosts are currently excluded from the daily testing.
  25.    These Hosts fall into two categories:
  26.  
  27.         1)  Hosts which are not expected to be functioning on the
  28.             Network as servers (available for use from other sites)
  29.             on a regular basis for at least two weeks.  The only
  30.             Host in this category is the PDP-10 at Case (Network
  31.             address 13).
  32.  
  33.         2)  Hosts which are currently intended to be users only.
  34.             Included here are the Terminal IMPs, which are presently
  35.             in the Network (AMES, MITRE, NBS, ETAC, USC, GWC, and
  36.             BBN*).  This category also includes the Network Control
  37.             Center computer (Network address 5) which is used solely
  38.             for gathering statistics from the Network.  Finally,
  39.             included among these Hosts are the following:

  55.    to refine and debug the Terminal IMP programs.

  158. *The only service currently offered by the UCLA IBM-360/91 is a Network Job
  159.  Service (NETRJS), however, the BBN Terminal IMP is not equipped to test
  160.  (NETRJS).  We are assuming that initial connection to the NETRJS logger
  161.  indicates that NETRJS is also functioning.
