  57. HOW TO USE THIS DOCUMENT
  58. ========================

  60.   This is a lot easier to learn if you go through with pencil and paper,
  61. and write down each number and its name as you find it the first time.
  62. Then it becomes clear suddenly and it's easy to do.
  63.  
  64.   When you boot up SWOTL it will, after the title page has played,
  65. display a bomber icon and a plane silhouette for the code wheel. This is
  66. the procedure to get the right code:
  67.  
  68. 1. Look in the ICONS table and find the "Icon Number".
  69. 2. Look in the PLANE SHAPE OFFSETS table and find the "Icon Offset" and
  70.    the "Plane Offset".
  71. 3. Add the "Icon Number" and the "Icon Offset" together.  If the result
  72.   is greater than 15, then subtract 15 from it.  In either case, the
  73.   number you get (between 1 and 15) is the "Code Number".  Go to this
  74.   number in the CODES table.  Now count along to the correct word using
  75.   the "Word Offset" value (eg. word offset of 3 is the 3rd word in the
  76.   list).  Type in the woman's name that appears there and you're off.

  78. Here's a test to make sure you're doing it right:  The Train car and the
  79. B17 Bomber combine to give the code "Margaret".  Good luck.
