  24.                Access to ADP Autonet Via Telenet, Tymnet, and Datapac
  25.  
  26.  
  27.           ADP Autonet interconnects with other public data networks  (PDNs)
  28.           to extend its data communications services to hundreds more loca-
  29.           tions. These Third Party Networks include  Telenet,  Tymnet,  and
  30.           Datapac.  The  networks support a wide range of interactive ASCII
  31.           terminals communicating at speeds up to 2400  Baud  over  dial-up
  32.           lines.

  34.           A complete, up-to-date list of Autonet and extended  access  num-
  35.           bers  is  available  under the selection "PHONE" in Autonet's on-
  36.           line information directory, AID. In addition,  Autonet  publishes
  37.           and  distributes  these  lists  occasionally throughout the year.
  38.           They can be obtained from your Autonet Sales Specialist.

  40.           If you encounter any problems gaining network access, please con-
  41.           tact Autonet's Network Control Center by our toll-free WATS line,
  42.           1-800-521-2733,  outside  of  Michigan,  or  by  our  Ann  Arbor,
  43.           Michigan number, 1-313-995-6595.

  59.           Users  who  access  Autonet  via  third-party  networks (Telenet,
  60.           Tymnet, or Datapac),  will  now  notice  an  improvement  in  the
  61.           response they receive to the input of a carriage return.
  62.  
  63.           Specifically, where Telenet users formerly experienced a delay in
  64.           the Line Feed following input of a carriage return, they will now
  65.           see the Line Feed occur immediately.  Where  Tymnet  and  Datapac
  66.           users  formerly experienced a double Line Feed (one immediate and
  67.           one delayed) as well as possible double echo, they will now see a
  68.           single Line Feed occur immediately, and no double echo.

  70.           This recent software enhancement makes all  three  networks  con-
  71.           sistent  in appearance. AID information files on each network now
  72.           reflect these changes.

  74.           PLEASE  NOTE: In all three cases, the default setting of $$ECHO 0
  75.           is assumed; any change to this parameter will  likely  result  in
  76.           double echo.

  78.           Additionally, the impending implementation of the X.75 gateway to
  79.           the  Datapac  network  may  again  alter  access  procedures  and
  80.           responses for users of this network. You will  be  notified  when
  81.           that  occurs, and the information will appear in the AID program.

  87.                            Impending Phone Number Changes
  88.  
  89.           The access numbers in the following cities are expected to change
  90.           within the time frame indicated. The numbers are accurate to  the
  91.           best  of  our  knowledge; however, until actual installation, the
  92.           telephone company reserves the right to reassign numbers. We will
  93.           attempt to keep you fully informed via the CHANGES and PHONES op-
  94.           tions. Please check these listings frequently.

  123.           If you encounter Autonet access  or  Autonet  response  problems,
  124.           please  report them to the ADP Network Control Center by our WATS
  125.           line, 1-800-521-2733, or by our Ann Arbor number, 1-313-995-6595.

  127.           If  you  have successfully gained access to Autonet, but are dis-
  128.           connected, report  the  information  in  the  following  items  1
  129.           through  9 to the person in your organization who handles Autonet
  130.           matters.

  132.           Two important points to remember:
  133.  
  134.            1. Leave the access line open if possible, and call from another
  135.               line.  This  will  help us solve the problem more quickly and
  136.               easily.
  137.  
  138.            2. If  you  are  using  a video display terminal, write down the
  139.               Autonet  line  number  if  you  receive  it.  If   you   have
  140.               established access through another network, take note of that
  141.               line number also. This information is important for resolving
  142.               your problem.

  169.        If  you  are encountering network ACCESS problems, supply the in-
  170.           formation in items 1 through 4, and describe the problem  as  one
  171.           of the following:

  173.                a. Receive answer and tone, but no response.
  174.  
  175.                b. Rings, but does not answer.
  176.  
  177.                c. Busy signal.
  178.  
  179.  
  180.           If you are encountering network RESPONSE problems, supply as many
  181.           of the items as possible in 1 through 9, and describe the problem
  182.           as one of the following:

  184.                a. No response.

  186.                b. Slow response.

  188.                c. Received Autonet Line number, but nothing further.
