  11. The DDN MANAGEMENT BULLETIN is distributed online by the DDN Network
  12. Information Center under DCA contract as a means of communicating
  13. official policy, procedures and other information of concern to
  14. management personnel at DDN facilities.  Back issues may be read
  15. through the TACNEWS server ("@n" command at the TAC) or may be
  16. obtained by FTP (or Kermit) from the NIC.DDN.MIL host [192.67.67.20]
  17. using login="anonymous" and password="guest".  The pathname for
  18. bulletins is DDN-NEWS:DDN-MGT-BULLETIN-nn.TXT (where "nn" is the
  19. bulletin number).

  22.                     NIC.DDN.MIL HOST ADDRESS CHANGE
  23.                  AND ROOT DOMAIN SERVER ADDRESS CHANGE
  24.  
  25. In order for the NIC to provide better service, and because of the
  26. phase-out of the ARPANET, the following changes have taken place and
  27. are effective immediately (6 April 1990).
  28.  
  29. NIC.DDN.MIL
  30.   The new address for host NIC.DDN.MIL is 192.67.67.20.
  31.  
  32.   The old ARPANET address for the NIC, 10.0.0.51, is no longer
  33.   available, due to the phase-out of the ARPANET.
  34.  
  35.   The old MILNET address for the NIC, 26.0.0.73, will continue
  36.   to be valid until 1 June 1990, after which service to this address
  37.   will be discontinued.

  39. ROOT DOMAIN SERVER
  40.   The NIC's root domain server will run on a new host,
  41.   NS.NIC.DDN.MIL at address 192.67.67.53.
  42.  
  43.   The old root server will continue to run on NIC.DDN.MIL
  44.   until 1 June 1990.
  45.  
  46. New host tables and domain server files produced by the NIC will
  47. reflect the new addresses.
  48.  
  49. Users should update host tables, domain server boot files, 
  50. manuals, and documentation to reflect the new addresses.
