  3. The concept of sovereignty stand on its own.  The sources shown 
  4. below may help you to see that it is a respected and valid 
  5. concept.

  7.      "...at the Revolution, the sovereignty devolved on the 
  8. people; and they are truly the sovereigns of the country, but 
  9. they are sovereigns without subjects...with none to govern but 
  10. themselves; the citizens of America are equal as fellow citizens,

  22. sovereignty of the people.

  25. "secret meeting law"  (California Government Code).

  33. Section 54950.  Declaration, intent; sovereignty.  In enacting
  34. this chapter, the Legislature finds and declares that the public
  35. commissions, boards and councils and other public agencies in
  36. this State exist to aid in the conduct of the people's business.  
  37. It is the intent of the law that their actions be taken openly
  38. and that their deliberations be conducted openly.

  40.      The people of the State do not yield their sovereignty to 
  41. the agencies which serve them.  The people, in delegating 
  42. authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide 
  43. what is good for the people to know and what is not good for
  44. them to know.  The people insist on remaining informed so that
  45. they may retain control over the instruments they have created.
