- In the first investigation into child pornography on a major computer
- online service, FBI raids have netted at least a dozen suspected
- pedophiles nationwide.

- The two-year undercover probe, dubbed "Innocent Images," focused on
- America Online, the nation's fastest growing computer network, to catch
- suspects distributing child pornography and arranging sex with children.
- It ended Wednesday with at least 12 arrests, and more arrests are expected
- from the search of more than 120 homes that began Aug. 22, the FBI said.

- Raids were conducted in 57 of the nation's 94 federal districts,
- concentrating on the East Coast, where the investigation begam in 1993,
- the FBI said.

- The Justice Department confirmed that cities involved include Miami, New
- York, Dallas and Newark, N.J. The FBI declined to release any further
- details.

- During the investigation, the FBI said it collected pornographic evidence
- involving victims, most of them between the ages of 2 and 13, who were
- pictured either nude or engaged in actual or simulated sex.
