WWIV Cleanup version 1.0

-----------
WHAT IS IT?
-----------
WWIV Cleanup is a utility that I wrote to take care of a
problem with WWIV's file handling. When you delete a sub
or file directory, the associated files are not automatically
deleted. Over time, your DATA and MSGS directories become
filled with unnecessary files.
-----------------
HOW DOES IT WORK?
-----------------
WWIV Cleanup scans your subboards and your file directories.
It then checks your DATA and MSGS directory for files that
are not associated with any of your present subs/directories.
WWIV Cleanup finds the following files:
*.SUB
*.DAT
*.DIR
*.EXT
NN*.NET
When it finds an unnecessary file, you will be asked whether
or not the file should be deleted. You always have the final
decision. No "automatic" deletion is performed.
------------
INSTALLATION
------------
Installation of WWIV Cleanup is very simple. Place the file
WWIVCLUP.EXE in your BBS directory. That's it!
This version of WWIV Cleanup EXPECTS to be run from the
BBS directory. It will not function if run from anywhere
else.
---------
EXECUTION
---------
At the DOS command line, type WWIVCLUP <enter>. The screen
will clear and the program will begin executing. You will be
informed of the program's progress in the Message window at
the bottom of the screen.
Whenever WWIV Cleanup locates an unnecessary file, an Input
window will pop up. The program will inform you that it
has found a file not associated with a particular sub or dir,
then ask if you want to delete it. Press 'Y' to delete it,
or 'N' to continue.
If the program completes execution and the words 'No matching
files were found' appear in the Message window, it means that
WWIV Cleanup was unable to locate any files that could be
deleted.

BUGS
----
This program has been thoroughly tested and performs
correctly on my system. However, it would be foolish to
believe that no problems will ever crop up. If you have
a bug to report, please contact Starlite BBS or send a
written explanation to the address above.
In your letter, please include the address where the error
occurred. Anyone finding a legitimate bug will receive
free registration for their copy of WWIV Cleanup.
