F1 Brings up this screen, from V-EDIT
SHIFT F1 Prints this document to LPT1
PAGE UP Displays previous screen
PAGE DOWN Displays next screen
ESCAPE Quits HELP and returns to V-EDIT
V-EDIT MOVEMENT COMMANDS
ENTER CR + LF
TAB, SHIFT TAB Moves 5 spaces to the right, Moves 5 spaces to the left
HOME Moves to the beginning of the row
CONTROL HOME Moves to row 1, column 1
END Moves to the end of the row
CONTROL END Moves to row 24, column 80
PAGE UP Moves to row 1, current column position
PAGE DOWN Moves to row 24, current column position
UP, DOWN Moves up or down in rows, in current column
LEFT, RIGHT Moves left or right in columns, in current row
CONTROL TAB Deletes 5 spaces to the right
INSERT Toggles overwriting
ALT INSERT Inserts a blank line using the default color attributes
ALT I Inserts a blank column at the cursor position
DELETE Deletes position at cursor, by line only
ALT DELETE Removes line at current cursor position
ALT D Removes column at current cursor position
BACKSPACE Deletes left towards beginning of line, by line only
V-EDIT DRAWING COMMANDS
CONTROL ARROWS Draws initialized characters in respective direction
CONTROL INSERT Draws diagonal: bottom to top, left to right | USE F12
CONTROL PAGE UP Draws diagonal: top to bottom, left to right | USE F12
CONTROL PAGE DOWN Draws diagonal: top to bottom, right to left | USE F12
CONTROL DELETE Draws diagonal: bottom to top, right to left | USE F12
CONTROL B Writes backwards every other space
CONTROL S Writes forwards every other space
CONTROL C Puts cursor at row 12, column 40
CONTROL V Draws double reverse blinking border(s), cyclic function
CONTROL W Draws custom shaded border, using current attributes
CONTROL X, Y Draws single, double line border, using current attributes
CONTROL Z Draws near even space border, using current attributes

F1 Brings up HELP, this screen
SHIFT F1 Prints this document to LPT1
F2 Centers characters on current row, disregards spaces
SHIFT F2 Centers characters on all rows, disregards spaces
F3 Pastes Last Block, if existing
SHIFT F3 Cut last Block pasted
F4 Clear screen in default background color
SHIFT F4 Changes default to current background color
F5 Scrolls through foreground colors, foward
SHIFT F5 Scrolls through foreground colors, backward
CONTROL F5 Toggles blink foreground color
F6 Scrolls through background colors
SHIFT F6 Resets to default background color
F7 Scrolls through 13 possible character sets
SHIFT F7 Resets set to default, numbers 1 to 0
Select character by the corresponding number key

F8 Fills screen with current character and color attributes
SHIFT F8 Clears screen within, double Y, X border.
F9 Global UNDO, restores from most edit functions
SHIFT F9 UNDO the UNDO command
F10 Starts Block Function
SHIFT F10 UNDO anything done in Block Function
V-EDIT BLOCK CURSOR MOVEMENT COMMANDS
TAB Moves 5 spaces to the right
SHIFT TAB Moves 5 spaces to the left
HOME Moves to the beginning of the row
CONTROL HOME Moves to row 1, column 1
END Moves to the end of the row
CONTROL END Moves to row 23, column 80
PAGE UP Moves to row 1, current column position
PAGE DOWN Moves to row 23, current column position
UP, DOWN Moves up or down in rows, in current column
LEFT, RIGHT Moves left or right in columns, in current row

ALT UP Move Block up
ALT DOWN Move Block down
ALT LEFT Move Block left
ALT RIGHT Move Block right
F1 Begin Block movement function
SHIFT F1 Reset Block to original position
ESCAPE Exits Block Move Function
V-EDIT BLOCK COMMAND
ENTER Anchors starting position of area to be Blocked
ENTER Registers ending position of area to be Blocked
ESCAPE Exits Block Function
Example: From the V-EDIT screen, press F10 to start the Block Function
move your cursor to the top, left corner of the object in which you wish
to Block, Press ENTER, move to bottom right corner, Press ENTER again.
V-EDIT BLOCK FUNCTION COMMANDS
F2 Cuts the blocked area
SHIFT F2 Displays the coordinates of the last blocked area
F3 Pastes block at current cursor position
SHIFT F3 Cuts last block pasted
F4 Changes block color to current color attributes
SHIFT F4 Restores block to previous color attributes
F5 Scrolls through foreground colors, foward
SHIFT F5 Scrolls through foreground colors, backward
CONTROL F5 Toggles blink foreground color
F6 Scrolls through background colors
SHIFT F6 Resets to default background color
F7 Scrolls through 13 possible character sets
SHIFT F7 Resets set to default, numbers 1 to 0
NOTE: Although you can not write while in the Block Function, pressing
a character, or selecting an item from the sets, will change the
fill character for function key F8.
V-EDIT BLOCK FUNCTION COMMANDS
F8 Fills blocked area with selected characters
SHIFT F8 Restores blocked area with original characters using
current attributes
F9 UNDO all prior Block commands
SHIFT F9 Clears blocked area in default color attribute
F10 NEW BLOCK RESET
SHIFT F10 Gets last blocked area
V-EDIT PAGE COMMANDS
CONTROL P Starts the Page Command Function.
CONTROL P From within this function, displays current Page Status.
ESCAPE Exits the Page Command Function.
PAGE UP Moves up one page.
PAGE DOWN Moves down one page.
HOME Moves to the first page.
END Moves to the last page.
V-EDIT PAGE COMMANDS
INSERT Inserts a blank page before the current page, see FCON.
DELETE Deletes the current page.
V-EDIT STATUS BAR
ROW Current row cursor is in, white when active
COL Current column cursor is in, white when active
1:1 - 0:0 Current character set, F7 changes set, Press 1 - 0
to select particular symbol, 'S' at 0 in set 12,
signifies 'SPACE' and can be used for drawing lines
or boxes in current background color attribute
INS Insert is on
CAPS Caps Lock is on
NUM Number Lock is on
BLOCK FUNCTION You are using the Block Function
FULL MOTION NET US!
V-EDIT STATUS BAR
NOTE: As soon as you type a character you will see a sample of 3 of them
between the COL # and the character sets, in the current foreground
and background color attributes. SPC meaning space, just a holder.
V-EDIT OTHER
ESCAPE Pressing ESCAPE in V-EDIT main screen will save the screen
and put you in the File Function. SEE FCON HELP
CONTROL T Extends or shortens display message time, pending your
processor speed. This is a cyclic command function.
HELP FOR FILE FUNCTION IS FOUND WITHIN THE FUNCTION
BEEP Just a signal, observe status or message
CHIRP Task complete, Operation OK, Good noise
BUZZ Not existing, Can't do, Can't find, Invalid operation
Bad noise
This version of V-EDIT is NOT public domain or freeware, but is being
