  Contrary to what some people would like to believe, BBS Utiliteez is not
  some wannabe commercial software development company...It is only a name
  given to a line of programs written by a HOBBIEST programmer. I've never
  had any intentions EVER of being some kind of a professional BBS or Door
  author, simply because there is no such thing...BBS and Door software is
  for hobbiests, real professional programmers don't waste their time with
  greasy kid's stuff like BBS and Door software. If anybody claims to be a
  professional BBS or Door author, the least that I can do is laugh at the
  choice of words that they use to describe themself...

  Larry Athey <> The Devil...One In The Same?
  ───────────────────────────────────────────
  Yes, that's true. There seems to be this popular conception going around
  FidoNet and Usenet that I'm somewhere close to  Satan or Lucifer  simply
  because I'm not one of those passive little pansies that always lets the
  whiners and egomaniacs of FidoNet and Usenet push me around...How dare I
  say _anything_ in response to a flame message using the same tone as the
  clown who cast the first stone?...Sorry, just because a I'm a programmer
  doesn't mean that I'm obligated to let people constantly kick me without
  kicking them back...Bummer, life is hard, if you feel that you've got to
  flame someone in public then you should expect to get the favor returned
  by tenfold...If the concept of that is un-nerving,  then I would suggest
  that you keep flame messages to yourself and re-think what you are about
  to type in a message to someone first...Pretty simple concept, isn't it?

  The Bogus Mike Jordan FBI Scam:
  ───────────────────────────────
  If you are familiar with FidoNet or the BBS related Usenet areas, you've
  probably heard about this bogus FBI scam that Mike Jordan (1:105/317.0),
  [e-mail] or [e-mail] initiated against me. The
  guy couldn't stand the fact that someone wrote something for the BBS and
  BBS Door world that he never could write in a million years,  so he went
  on a mission to discredit, belittle, and defame, this program in any way
  he could. This first started with flame messages in the FidoNet BBSDOORS
  echo,  and I kindly returned the favor which quickly blew a hole in that
  overgrown ego of his. As soon as I did that, he had someone log on to my
  BBS and send him e-mail messages using my UUCP gateway which contained a
  smattering of death threats...The person who sent the messages logged on
  using a bogus name, and an alias resembling a user on my BBS of which he
  was convinced was actually myself (nice try, Jimbo)...When Mike received
  these messages, he took them to the FBI in Portland, Oregon and tried to
  file federal charges against me...It would have worked, but the FBI uses
  certain techniques to trace phone call records, which  (just by chance?)
  showed an incoming call into my BBS from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, four
  minutes before the time/date stamp on the messages...Even though Mike is
  trying desperately to convince everyone  I begged and pleaded to get out
  of federal charges, the truth is when the FBI contacted me it was to ask
  me if I wanted to file charges against Mike  for fabricating evidence to
  file a federal complaint with. If begging and pleading actually works in
  problems with the FBI, I'm sure John Gotti would have used the technique
  to prevent himself from being sent to a federal prison...Right?...

  The "Mikey Jordan YesMan" Saga Continues:
  ─────────────────────────────────────────
  Since the initiation of Mike Jordan's bogus FBI scam, he became aware of
  the fact that nothing he could do on his own could kill off my programs,
  or get me booted from FidoNet. The most he could do is try to cut off my
  feed to one of his lame echos that I already disconnected from...As soon
  as he claimed he cut my feed,  I quickly reconnected to it just to prove
  him wrong (again)...When he saw this, he quickly sent out a cry for help
  to anybody who would listen...The first person he went to is this bitter
  old battle axe named Della Moore (1:14/787.0), [e-mail] who
  is obviously so annoying that only her cat can tolerate her and her kids
  have all but disowned her (it's even possible they've done that by now).
  The concept of my existence in FidoNet and the existence of my graphical
  interface MAX Graphics is such a big thorn in her side, that the FidoNet
  echo ON_LINE_GAMES has turned into a constant  "Whine about Larry & MAX"
  festival. The jist of their whining which mainly comes from Della Moore,
  Mike Jordan, Robert Kidwell (1:116/52.0), and Rob Williams (1:105/278.0)
  is that nobody in the world outside of my beta testers uses MAX Graphics
  in their BBS...A similar bit of logic explains their actions, an Ostrich
  will bury his head in the sand if you scare him. This is similar to what
  a child does if they fear a ghost or a monster is in their bedroom. They
  will cover their head or their eyes in order to convince themselves that
  the ghost or monster doesn't exist (out of sight, out of mind). Yet they
  actually know better than to believe their lies,  so they take the smear
  campaigns against MAX Graphics and myself  into other FidoNet echos just
  to try to spread their fantasies based on nothing more than insecurities
  and pure denial...Face it, if these people actually believed any part of
  this fantasy,  Mike Jordan wouldn't have begged another programmer for a
  utility that drops carrier on any terminal program capable of running in
  MAX Graphics emulation. I often wonder why if Mike is as great of a door
  programmer as he wants others to believe,  then why didn't he write this
  utility himself?...That tells the whole Mike Jordan story right there...

  Who Actually Wrote MAX Graphics?
  ────────────────────────────────
  According to Mike Jordan, every part of MAX Graphics is stolen, there is
  no possible way that I could have written it...Della Moore being just as
  gullible as always has bought this fantasy and is convinced that I am in
  some way guilty of some kind of illegal activity. However, no matter how
  many times I ask for the true author of MAX Graphics to step forward and
  show himself, nothing happens...Insecurity and denial at it's best here,
  that's all there is to it...I've even openly invinted, and dared them to
  to turn me over to whatever authorities that will press these charges of
  which they're convinced I'm guilty of...Until then, I'll be sitting here
  patiently waiting to see any proof of this accusation of MAX Graphics or
  any other program of mine being stolen in one way or another...Honestly,
  I believe we'll all be 6 feet under before that day ever comes...

  The Fun Never Ends, Yet Another Legal Scam:
  ───────────────────────────────────────────
  It never ends, this new scam started with this clown by the name of Tony
  Campbell (1:109/263+264) when he tried to talk me into selling my source
  code to my Shotgun BBS specific utilities and doors to him. The guy is a
  C programmer, not a Pascal programmer,  and I already had one experience
  with the guy where I spent a week  trying to explain the most elementary
  level Pascal programming concepts to him. So I decided I did not want to
  sell him the source code, and have to go through this all over again for
  who knows how long this time. Refusing to sell him my source code caused
  him to explode into the most childish display of underhanded antics I've
  ever seen...This clown did everything from posting messages from his BBS
  and another BBS ran by Robert Stoner (1:270/1000.0), using an incredibly
  obvious alias Gordon East Esq. who is suppose to be a lawyer claiming to
  sue me for distributing an illegal source code package, plus illegal use
  of a US trademark, to you name it. Now I seriously doubt any _reputable_
  lawyer would log on to a BBS  to send legal notices/warnings to anybody.
  A real lawyer will send you certified _postal mail_, not email, netmail,
  or echo mail. I have even received the same kind of messages from Robert
  Stoner because I did the same thing to him that he did to me,  I came up
  with a parody on his software company name (oh darn, what shall we do?).
  He calls it F.U.S.S. & I said it stands for [F]ind [U]s [S]omeone else's
  [S]oftware because all he does is buy other people's source code, pastes
  his name on it, an then takes all the credit for writing the program. Oh
  well, bummer, I made a joke out of someone's company name. Let's see, am
  I gonna get sued by MicroSlurpie for trademark abuse now? Get a life....

  Final Notes:

  As far as suggestions for programs go....I am always open to suggestions
  and ideas for new features so long as they  come from the "SysOp" of the
  BBS running the program...If you are the SysOp of the system running the
  program and have an idea for a feature  that will benefit other SysOps &
  Users running the program, I'll put it on the wish list....If this seems
  to be a popular suggestion,  then it will be implemented ASAP....Program
  features are decided on a first come - first serve basis and their level
  of importance to other SysOps and the public....
