* SysopUp *
* (c) 1993 by Jason Duke and Genesis Software *

* WHAT IS IT? *
I recently upgrade to RemoteAccess 2.00. I didn't like all those
blank entries under "Uploaded By:" in the new RA Filebase. I looked and
looked for some sort of utility to insert my name in those fields so that
they wouldn't be empty. But I found nothing. So I sat down for a couple
hours and wrote SysopUp. SysopUp replaces empty "Uploaded By:" fields in
the RA Filebase with the sysop's name (taken from RA's configuration).
* HOW DO I RUN IT? *
This is probably the simplest RA utility you will ever encounter.
All you have to do is type SYSOPUP at the DOS prompt and it does the rest
for you. The only requirement is that the RA environment variable be set
to your RA System directory (wherever CONFIG.RA is located). To do this,
type "SET RA=C:\RA" (or whatever your directory might be-- don't type the
quotes, though). The program may take anywhere from ten seconds to ten
minutes, depending on how many files you have and the speed of your com-
puter.
* HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE IT? *
I recommend using SysopUp more than just once to initialize the
Filebase after upgrading. Each time you get something via a file echo or
download something from another board or FREQ something or get a file at-
tach, you will have new files in your RemoteAccess Filebase! I plan to
run SysopUp once a day or maybe once a week so that any blank "Uploaded
By" fields will be filled with my name! It doesn't take TOO long!
* HOW DO I REGISTER? *
Oh, piddle. What kind of jerk would I be to require registration
of this simple little gadget. These instructions took almost as long for
me to write as the program code! All I ask is that you don't hack into my
program and change things, although there really isn't any need to. So in
other words, SysopUp is freeware. If, however, you have some extra dough
and nothing to spend it on, Genesis Software can always use help to keep
me fed and clothed. Any donations can be sent to:

* HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH WITH THE AUTHOR? *
You can get in touch with me, Jason Duke, several ways. I can be
found at Fidonet 1:381/102, PuppyNet 11:100/104, IBBSNet 35:915/101, and
Circuitnet 915505. You can call my BBS Genesis at 915-581-5454. Please
don't hesitate to leave me your comments or suggestions!
* HOW DID YOU WRITE THIS DARN PROGRAM? *
I wrote SysopUp with Borland International's Turbo Pascal 6.0.
* ARE YOU AT ALL LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS? *
No. Hate to sound uncaring, but I am not going to guarantee this
nifty little utility. I know for a fact that it works fine on my filebase
(after numerous backups and rewrites when I forget some details). But now
it works fine so I don't think you will have any problems. Just as a pre-
caution, you may want to back up your FDB*.HDR files (located in the HDR\
subdirectory of the directory you defined for the filebase in RACONFIG).
