  2.   PPP Project Version 1.5 Beta-18

  4.   To install this version, you just need to overwrite the files in your main
  5.   BBS directory with the EXE files included here.

  8.   NOTE: This version includes a file called POP.DBG.  This is a "debug"
  9.         version of the POP client used to send and receive mail, which
  10.         displays the messages sent between the PPP Project Software and
  11.         your ISP's mail server(s).  If you have problems, you can rename
  12.         this file to POP.EXE and put it into your WWIV directory. overwriting
  13.         the standard POP.EXE.  To force a callout from outside the BBS (so
  14.         that the error messages are not immediately cleared off the screen),
  15.         type the following command in the main BBS directory:

  17.         NETWORK /Nxx .y
  18.  
  19.         where xx is the node number of any of the FILEnet systems you connect
  20.         to, and y is the number of FILEnet as defined in INIT, minus one.

  28.   systems, and allows the use of 0.0.0.0 to indicate dynamic IP address

  37.   This release fixed the problem of LSL not unloading after callout, and
  38.   other crashes and problems created or still present in Beta-15.  This
  39.   version was also rewritten to lower memory requirements, and removed the
  40.   hooks for using the Merit EtherPPP driver software (which is much less
  41.   stable than the KLOS driver currently used).

  45.   Goose's first attempt at fixing some of the problems in Beta-14, to
  46.   make the program more stable (less likely to crash).  This version was
  47.   based on the code from beta-12 (after the beta-14 code was accidentally
  48.   trashed), so it may bring back problems created in the previous version.
  49.   This version also removed the built in ADDRESS.NET, BBSLIST.NET and
  50.   CONNECT.NET update capability that is now performed by the standard
  51.   FILEnet software.

  55.   The version released by Frank Reid in August 1996.  This version had
  56.   all the hooks in for mail and newsgroups, but had problems under some
  57.   environments.

  61.   The last full packaged version of the software released.  This version
  62.   did not include the gating of Internet Email or Newsgroups to the BBS,
  63.   although it had much smaller memory requirements.  This version does
  64.   include an install program, although it is back level (and refers to
  65.   PPPnet, which existed before the merger with FILEnet).
