  3. Welcome to Valence, my QWK door for Searchlight.

  5. Notice this message is number "0" - that's because it isn't really in
  6. your mailbox, only in your packet. It's auto-sent to every new user,
  7. along with "bulletin 0", the user documentation file for Valence, which
  8. you may already have read. If not, it should be in your packet under the
  9. name "BLT-0.0" (or "BLT-1.0", if you're in Yucky mode). You may want to
  10. save this "bulletin" for future reference. It's a bit long (around 40k),
  11. so you may not want to read it all now. You don't need to read ANY of it
  12. to use Valence. (But it might be a good idea.)

  14. Despite by best efforts, there are bound to be a few bugs left
  15. unsquashed. Please report any you find to me. You can netmail me at the
  16. address above (1:379/301 Fidonet, or 250:101/226 SL_Net) - send it to
  17. "WILLIAM MCBRINE", *NOT* "SYSOP" - or use the addresses below. This is
  18. not only a fake MAIL message, but a fake Netmail message, too. :-) To
  19. send a netmail reply, simply remove the quote-marking characters from
  20. the first line of the quoted text when you reply. The first line should
  21. then read "Netmail: 1:379/301". To send netmail in Valence, you must
  22. have the "originate" and "unlisted" attributes. Ask your sysop for more
  23. information.

  25. If you have any suggestions or comments, let me know. The default
  26. settings in Valence are set pretty much by my personal preference; tell
  27. me what YOU would like them to be.
