  1. You may configure MAIL MANAGER +PLUS+ via the following options:
  2.  
  3. A) Select the conferences from which you would like to extract
  4.    messages.
  5.  
  6.    On your first trip into the door, Mail Manager +Plus+ sets
  7.    you up to receive messages in all conferences that you have
  8.    joined from RBBS-PC.  You can turn a conference "on" or "off"
  9.    by entering the conference number at the prompt.  A conference
  10.    is selected as "active" if it is surrounded in brackets, such
  11.    as:

  13.      [MAIN   ]
  14.  
  15.    There may be many conferences to choose from.  You can save
  16.    yourself some time by "stacking" the conference numbers here.
  17.    For instance, you can enter:

  19.      1 15 20 25 50
  20.  
  21.    ...to toggle conferences numbered 1, 15, 20, 25, and 50.

  23. X) Select which messages in your chosen conferences to extract.
  24.  
  25.    Mail Manager +Plus+ will normally download mail based on the
  26.    last message that you've read in each conference.  Since you
  27.    can read mail both online AND offline, and have the option of
  28.    telling Mail Manager +Plus+ NOT to update your last message
  29.    read markers, you might want to use this option from time to
  30.    time to reset them to what you want.

  32.    You may set this in a number of ways:
  33.  
  34.       - by entering a specific message number,
  35.       - an increment such as +50 or -25,
  36.       - "L" to reset to the last message in the conference,
  37.       - "L-10" to extract the last 10 messages, or
  38.       - just press [ENTER] for no change.
  39.  
  40.    After setting your message marker, you may also choose what
  41.    type of messages to select for this conference.  You may
  42.    choose three possibilities:
  43.  
  44.       - receive ALL messages.
  45.       - receive personal only.
  46.       - apply the system default (all or personal only) as
  47.         selected by configuration option D.

  49. B) Format of downloaded mail packets (Text or QWK).
  50.  
  51.    Set to TEXT if you want to use Mail Manager +Plus+ as a simple
  52.    "extract and download" system (all messages in a single
  53.    continuous ascii file).
  54.  
  55.    Set to QWK if you want to read and reply offline using a
  56.    QWK-compatible mail reader like SLMR.
  57.  
  58. C) Do you want messages addressed to "ALL" marked as personal in
  59.    your QWK packets?
  60.  
  61.    If set to "Y", Mail Manager +Plus+ will add messages addressed
  62.    to "ALL" to your QWK packet personal index.
  63.  
  64. D) Do you want to extract ONLY your personal mail as system default?
  65.  
  66.    If set to "Y", Mail Manager +Plus+ will not extract a message
  67.    unless it is addressed to you.  (Will also extract messages to
  68.    "ALL" if you have option C set to "Y".)  You may override this
  69.    setting for individual conferences - see configuration option
  70.    X.

  72. E) Do you want to extract messages written by you?
  73.  
  74.    If set to "NO", Mail Manager +Plus+ will not include messages
  75.    from you in your packet.
  76.  
  77. F) Do you want to abort the download if no new messages are
  78.    found?
  79.  
  80.    You might not want to do this if you would still like to
  81.    receive new file listings or updated system news or bulletins.
  82.  
  83. G) Do you want to have updated bulletins included in your packet?
  84.  
  85.    If set to "Y" all bulletins newer than your previous logon
  86.    date for this BBS will be included in your mail packet.
  87.  
  88.    If set to "N", any updated bulletins which the sysop has
  89.    designated as mandatory will still be included.
  90.  
  91. H) Do you want new file listings included in your packet?
  92.  
  93.    If you select this option, a listing of newly-uploaded files
  94.    will be included in your mail packet.
  95.  
  96.    This option may not be operational on all systems.
  97.  
  98. I) Do you want to confirm you wish to receive the packet prior
  99.    to the actual download?
  100.  
  101.    If set to "Y", Mail Manager +Plus+ will stop and ask you
  102.    whether or not to send you the packet before it starts the
  103.    actual file transfer.

  105. J) Which type of file compression do you want to use on your mail
  106.    packet?
  107.  
  108.    You can choose from the file compression utilities offered by
  109.    your sysop (ZIP, ARC, etc.)
  110.  
  111. K) Which file transfer protocol do you wish to use?
  112.  
  113.    Choose from the protcols offered by your sysop (Xmodem,
  114.    Zmodem, etc.).  Set to "N" (None) if you'd like to choose
  115.    your preferred protocol on each file transfer.

  117. L) Do you want Mail Manager +Plus+ to tell RBBS-PC that you've
  118.    read the mail that you download from this door?
  119.  
  120.    If this is set to NO, both RBBS and Mail Manager +Plus+ will
  121.    think that you haven't read the messages that you've downloaded.
  122.    (Mail Manager +Plus+ will extract them again your next time in).
  123.  
  124. M) Do you want Mail Manager +Plus+ to tell RBBS-PC when you read
  125.    mail online while in this door?
  126.  
  127.    If set to NO, any messages you read in the door will still be
  128.    downloaded in your next mail packet.  This can be handy for
  129.    checking a message or two before downloading your mail.
  130.  
  131.    If set to YES, the highest message number you read sets your
  132.    high message marker, and only higher message numbers will be
  133.    included in your next mail packet.
  134.  
  135. T) TurboKey toggle.
  136.  
  137.    If set to "Yes", Mail Manager +Plus+ will act on 1-character
  138.    commands wherever it can, without requiring you to press
  139.    [ENTER] afterwards.
