Welcome to the Sysop's TechNet! This network was created to help the
sysop, whether they be novice or veteran. If you are a sysop, and are
serious about sysoping and getting the most out of your BBS, this network
is for you.
This net came into being, mentally, in the beginning of May 1996. There
seemed to be a lack of good sysop-oriented networks out there, and I had
been asked a number of times where someone could find one. So Vincent
Danen decided to start one. After much discussion with STN's co-founder,
Kevin Nunn, STN came into being on May 16, 1996.
We believe that STN is a network that will bring a lot of much needed, or
much wanted, support to your system. This network is 100% open to any
sysops who wish to carry it. The staff are 100% open to new ideas. This
net came into being to service YOU, not the other way around. Many
networks take their systems for granted. Many networks treat their members
unfairly. Many networks are created to just create more numbers. STN is
none of these. Each sysop is treated fairly, each user on each system is
treated the same way. We believe STN should be informative, yet relaxed and
fun. Remember, this network is YOURS as much as it is ours. It is our
desire, and purpose, to help YOU in whatever you may need.
With a support staff and support system that rivals many great networks,
STN will quickly work it's way into your "world". Our hubs care about
their nodes, and they know what they're doing. If you have any problems,
they'll be there to assist you, not mock you.
We hope you decide to give STN a try. If you are one of the few of us who
try to help sysops as much as we can, this network is definately for you.
If you're still learning, this network is for you. If you want to become a
"power sysop", this is the net you'll want. If you just want more
information... you get the picture. Give us a try, I'm sure you won't be
dissapointed.
As of May 15 2000, STN absorbed TimeNet, an FTN network that had existed
since January 1990. I was also the IC of TimeNet and made the decision to
merge the two networks into one.
As of September 30, 2000, Vincent Danen, the founder of STN, has shut down
his BBS. Vincent was the driving force that created STN and he will be
sorely missed. We wish you the very best in the future Vincent!
As of Marth 1, 2005, started Gert Andersen on thinking on to getting
Sysop's TechNet in work again after the IC and ZC George Robert there should
working for it not has been to getting contact with and connect to in nearly
a year.
Starting to contact the RC's and starts working together with Jame Clay
RC 6000 for running good network.
As of April 1, 2005, was the first new nodelist send out to RC's with the
new number for RC's to connect to for Sysop's TecHNet RC's so the flow between
US and Europe work working again and Gert Andersen worked as ZC2 111:111/2.
As of May 1, 2005, was Gert Andersen and Jame Clay gone into getting Sysop's
TecHNet reoginazed and contact the RC's for getting things into a better
feeding.
As of May 6, 2005 has Gert Andersen 111:111/2 made a new homepage for Sysop's
TechNet and registreted 2 domains for Sysop's TechNet as sysopstechnet.com
and sysoptech.net there will be working on to be the 2 domains and webs for
Sysop's TechNet in the month after.
As of May 9, 2005 got new main domain for STN to work with main domain as
sysoptech.net (www.sysoptech.net) or domain sysopstechnet.com
(www.sysopstechnet.com) should too could be used and it will both go to
http://www.sysoptech.net ...
