  57.      This is an urgent plea to the citizens of the world. Subliminal
  58.      messages have been placed into alphabet soup for the last 23 years.
  59.      Yes, Campbell's soup is excellent with many fine flavors and variety,
  60.      and is a nutritious source of sustenance. But ask yourself, "Is it
  61.      really that good? Why have I forgotten all of the other brands of soup
  62.      that I used to enjoy?"
  63.  
  64.      Today I went to a homeless shelter and videotaped people eating
  65.      Campbell's soup. I later analyzed the tape one frame at a time looking
  66.      for clues leading to why there are so many cans of Cambpell's soup at
  67.      homeless shelters across the nation. What I found is almost
  68.      incomprehensible! In a video lasting for ten minutes and containing
  69.      hundreds of thousands of individual frames, I observed that in one
  70.      frame out of 137, letters had automatically arranged to form words.
  71.      These words of course included advertisements for Campbell's soup, and
  72.      links to their web site.
  73.  
  74.      Can't you people see that a monopoly is being formed by the Campbell's
  75.      Corporation? In a matter of months, I predict that the word "Campbell"
  76.      will be as well-known throughout households as the name "Bill Gates"
  77.      is known this very day. If you think I'm crazy, ask yourself, "Do I
  78.      have any Campbell products in my cupboard?" I believe that about 95%
  79.      of the people that read this will find that they do indeed possess at
  80.      least 3 cans of this in their house. Due to my lack of being a
  81.      credible news source, I must empirically state that probably 96% of
  82.      people in the world own something that is related to Bill Gates. Do we
  83.      all like soup that much that we should sell our souls for it?

  94.      ZCC selects new FidoNet International Coordinator
  95.      FidoNet IC Elected to Office

  99.      The Zone Coordinator Council (ZCC) has, by a majority and unanimous
  100.      vote of 6:0, selected George Peace as the new FidoNet International
  101.      Coordinator, with effect from the 1st September 1994. George was the
  102.      immediate past Zone 1 Coordinator. POLICY4 wording requires that the
  103.      IC be selected from amongst the ZC ranks, however this solution has
  104.      been made possible by a POLICY interpretation supplied by the
  105.      outgoing IC.

  107.      The ZCC wishes to thank the outgoing IC, Matt Whelan, for his past
  108.      contributions to the FidoNet network. The responsibility and required
  109.      time commitment of the IC position are substancial and demanding,
  110.      thanks for the commendable contribution Matt.
  111.  
  112.      There has been an unfortunate time delay between IC resignation and
  113.      this selection. However with George accepting the position, we're
  114.      looking  forward to improving levels of Zonal cooperation and
  115.      performance both within the ZCC and throughout the Network.

  498.                             How to Submit an Article
  499.  
  500.      If you wish to submit an article for inclusion in the Fidonews, here
  501.      are some guidelines, if you send it as an attached file; the preferred
  502.      method if you want reasonable control over how the published article
  503.      will appear in the Fidonews:
  504.  
  505.      a) Plain ASCII text. If you could type it on your keyboard, it's
  506.         probably quite OK. No line may be longer than 70 characters.
  507.  
  508.      b) Put a title to the article. Put the title in two times. The first
  509.         time, on the first line, with an * before it. The second time, on
  510.         the second line, without the * and centered. This will help in the
  511.         format since the title with the * is removed and used in the index,
  512.         the second line will become the headline. On the third line, put
  513.         your name and FidoNet address, present or former. If former, you
  514.         may want to add some other address where you can be reached for
  515.         personal comments.
  516.  
  517.      c) Deadline for article submission is Sunday, 12:00 UTC.
  518.  
  519.      Help the Editor by following the above guides. Below are some subjects
  520.      and the file extension for the article as set in the configuration
  521.      file for the making of the Fidonews. Please help by putting the file
  522.      extension of the correct subject on the file name if known..

  541.      If you don't know or are not sure, send the article anyway. Put a .TXT
  542.      on it and I'll try to figure out where it should be in the Fidonews.

  544.      If you follow these simple guidelines, there should be little problem
  545.      in getting your article published. If your submission is too far out
  546.      of specs for the Fidonews, it will be returned to you and/or a message
  547.      sent informing you of the problem. This DOES NOT mean that your
  548.      article is not accepted. It means that there is something in it that I
  549.      can not fix and I need your help on it.

  560.                 word "fidonews" somewhere in the subject line! That way it
  561.                 will always pass the spam filter, ending up in the proper
