  1. It's THAT time of the month again!
  2. Commodore Computer Conference (CBM) Rules
  3. Revised: 22 Jan 2005

  5. WHAT IS THE CBM CONFERENCE:
  6. This conference is a friendly meeting place for owners and users of
  7. Commodore Business Machines 8-bit hardware, including the PET, VIC-20,
  8. C-64, C-128, C-16, Plus/4, and other Commodore 8-bit CPU computers and
  9. peripherals. This conference does NOT support the Commodore Amiga, PC
  10. or Colt lines.
  11. VALID POSTINGS IN THE CBM CONFERENCE:
  12. Messages in the conference shall deal with items of direct interest to
  13. owners and users of Commodore 8-bit CPU machines. These may include
  14. features, applications (both hardware and software), problems, repairs,
  15. discoveries, programming (ML, BASIC, or other languages),
  16. modifications, publications, sales or trades of hardware and legally
  17. owned software, etc.
  18. INVALID POSTINGS IN THE CBM CONFERENCE:
  19. Messages that do not fit the above are "Off Topic" and shall not be
  20. posted in this echo. When conflict exist, the moderator's best
  21. judgement shall prevail.
  22. Examples of things that are forbidden in this echo include, but are not
  23. limited to, the following. If someone finds a new way to annoy all and
  24. sundry, a new category will be added.
  25. PIRACY - Discussion of the ILLEGAL acquisition of copyrighted software
  26. or sending copyrighted software through the echo against the authors
  27. expressed wishes is forbidden.
  28. PERSONAL ATTACKS (FLAMES) - You may disagree with the viewpoint of
  29. other users. Do so politely and without "Ad Hominem" comments.
  30. OBSCENITY - Language should be appropriate for the age and gender mix
  31. of our participants.
  32. EMULATORS - Programs that run on other platforms, even in the attempt
  33. to copy the operation of the Commodores, are "Off Topic" here.
  34. ALIAS'S / HANDLES - This is a "Real Name Only" echo. If you must use an
  35. alias or handle in the From: field, then you must sign each post with
  36. your real name. This should only be considered a temporary expedient.
  37. PERSONAL (CHAT) MESSAGES - Personal messages, not remotely related with
  38. Commodore computers, are "Off Topic".
  39. MODERATION:
  40. The moderator will usually reply to violations thru the echo itself.
  41. This is due primarily to the large number of Commodore users who do not
  42. have access to netmail and is not intended to insult or embarrass any
  43. participant. If you receive a reminder, you may reply in the echo or by
  44. netmail to the address below. Other users shall not respond to
  45. "Official" communications between the moderator and a user.
  46. The Moderator is also a participant in this echo. Official post will be
  47. signed "The Moderator". Post without the official signature may be
  48. treated as you would treat a post by any participant.
