  1. TUB - The Squish Support Echo 
  2. Moderator - Joe Davis, 1:261/1380

  4. 1 - This echo is for SQUISH support.  Messages posted here should
  5. pertain to Squish and related utilities.  Discussions that start
  6. to lean more toward Maximus, MEX/MECCA scripts or 3rd party
  7. software should be continued in MUFFIN: Maximus & related utilities.
  8. English is the language of this echo.
  9. 2 - When someone posts a message requesting help, please try to be as
  10. helpful and accurate as possible.
  11. 3 - This echo is restricted to sysops (or soon to be sysops) only.
  12. It may not be made generally available to your users.
  13. 4 - Please use your real name when posting here.  If you aren't sure,
  14. check your birth certificate.
  15. 5 - Avoid creating unneeded traffic.  Here's a list of basic "No-no's":
  16. No: BBS ads, 'test' messages, "where are you from" chains, multiple
  17. tearlines, replies to off-topic messages, encrypted messages, PGP
  18. sigs, multiline sigs or taglines, playing moderator (unless you -are-
  19. the moderator), additional headers/footers in messages, hi-ascii/ascii
  20. "artwork" (we really -don't- care to see it), uuencoded files, or
  21. huge amounts of over-quoting.
  22. ("high-bit" ASCII characters are permitted ONLY in the context of
  23. demonstrating something directly related to Squish or a related
  24. util.  Other uses are not allowed.  ANSI is -never- allowed.)
  25. If a program (reader, tagline mgr, etc.) is adding a lot of extra
  26. junk to messages, please DON'T use it here.  (The moderator will
  27. decide what's "extra junk", and let you know.)
  28. "Internet-style" signatures are -greatly- unwelcome, as well as
  29. listing every email account or FTN-type address you have.
  30. Leave it out, please.  One -short- line is an "acceptable" signature.
  31. Please, do not use a "shotgun" approach to posting, cc'ing a message
  32. to all Maximus-related echoes.  Pick the one echo that applies to
  33. your topic, and post the message only in that one.
  34. 6 - Please, limit quoting in your replies.  (If you're quoting more than
  35. a couple lines, you're probably quoting too much.)  Never quote tag/
  36. tear/origin lines.
  37. 7 - "OS Bashing" is stupid, and not welcome here.  Don't do it.  Period.
  38. This also means, leave your cutesy "OS put-down" tag/origin lines
  39. out of this echo.  (Grow up, ok?)
  40. 8 - Rules of Common Courtesy apply at -all- times.  If you want to argue
  41. with, or complain to someone, do it elsewhere.  Play nice!
  42. 9 - File announcements are allowed by authors of utilities directly
  43. related to the topic of this echo.  You are also encouraged to help
  44. others find programs they may need.  When doing so, please include
  45. filenames, and what restrictions (if any) you have on file requests.
  46. In the case of files via HTTP or FTP, *try* to include the URL (and
  47. directory if needed) of the file as well.
  48. 10 - This echo may not be gated (in or out) to any other FTN-style network,
  49. or the internet, without without prior permission of the moderator.
  50. Authorized gates will be published in the ELIST*.* listing for this
  51. echo.
  52. 11 - Moderator may be lax or strict with these rules, based solely on
  53. the Moderator's discretion.  Previous precedent may or may not be 
  54. be used, again at the Moderator's discretion.
  55. 12 - Moderator may edit any part of these rules, at any time, to suit any
  56. given circumstance.
  57. Changes will be made to this list as needed.  Your input is welcome via
  58. netmail.  (Arguing about moderator decisions/rules is not welcome in the
  59. echo... again, please use netmail.)
