  2. GUIDELINES FOR ECHOLIST ECHO CONFERENCE
  3. These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
  4. of the ECHOLIST echo.
  5. 1.  DESCRIPTION
  6. ECHOLIST is an  administrative echo, used by the Echolist
  7. (ECHOLIST) Coordinator to post echo anouncements and other
  8. information pertaining to the Echolist.
  9. 2.  PURPOSE
  10. The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
  11. conference updates between the monthly ECHOLIST file distribution
  12. dates.  A companion echo (ELIST) also provides access to the
  13. ECHOLIST's author for questions about the database.
  14. 3.  MODERATOR
  15. The Moderator of ECHOLIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/21.
  16. 4.  DISTRIBUTION
  17. Participation in ECHOLIST is open to anyone having an interest in 
  18. the ECHOLIST and its operation.
  19. 5.  FEED STRUCTURE
  20. Any sysop is welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without 
  21. further notice.  Permission is also granted to gate this echo to 
  22. other networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/21) is
  23. advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions
  24. are followed.
  25. 6.  TOPICS
  26. Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:
  27. a.  ECHOLIST moderator updates posted by 1:1/21
  28. b.  ECHOLIST status announcements posted by 1:1/21
  29. c.  ECHOLIST help files posted by 1:1/21
  30. d.  Questions from participants about ECHOLIST operations
  31. Note; Questions for the echolist keeper should be made in the
  32. ELIST echo.
  33. Prohibited in this echo are as follows:
  34. a.  Flames
  35. b.  Commercial advertisements
  36. c.  IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
  37. d.  Aliases
  38. e.  Messages regarding the moderation of this echo
  39. These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
  40. deems necessary.  Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
