  1. It's time for the monthly rules again.
  2. ****************** The CBM-GEOS RULES ********************
  3. Revised 12 Feb 2003
  4. PLEASE READ AND OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING RULES OF THE CBM-GEOS ECHO!
  5. We try to remain as loose as possible here, but common sense
  6. necessitates some degree of control.  The following rules apply:
  7. 1.  This Echo is called CBM-GEOS.  It is strictly for discussions on,
  8. and assistance with, Commodore GEOS or Commodore GEOS related
  9. products.
  10. 2.  When discussions do not directly involve Commodore GEOS they should
  11. be moved to the Commodore Echo, or to another specific echo.
  12. Discussions on moving data to/from other platforms is allowed
  13. ONLY if the programs being discussed are PRIMARILY for the benefit
  14. of Commodore GEOS users.
  15. *3. The Moderator of the CBM-GEOS Echo is Phil Heberer. Please direct any
  16. Suggestions or Complaints concerning this echo to Phil Heberer via
  17. NetMail at 1:395/46.128. You can also send Internet E-mail
  18. to phil@heberer.org.
  19. Rod Gasson at 3:800/221 has been appointed Zone 3 Moderator
  20. for this echo.
  21. DO NOT USE THE CBM-GEOS ECHO ITSELF TO COMPLAIN!
  22. If you DO NOT have access to NetMail, ask your SYSOP to relay
  23. NetMail for you, or send your complaint/suggestion via snailmail.
  24. 4.  Absolutely No Flames, Test Messages, Political Postings, or any
  25. other Off-Topic messages.  Do NOT Respond to ANY SUCH messages via
  26. this echo!
  27. 5.  PROFANITY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ! !
  28. 6.  English is the required language for this Echo.  Please do not reply
  29. to Non-English messages.
  30. 7.  Please LIMIT QUOTING of messages by eliminating all information that
  31. is not needed to emphasize your response.  Please be sure to
  32. eliminate ALL orgin and signature lines unless they relate directly
  33. to your response.
  34. 8.  Tag lines and Signature lines are NOT to advertise any Commerical
  35. Enterprise.  Including the name of your BBS and Phone Number in the
  36. Signature or Orgin line IS acceptable, but anything beyond this is
  37. NOT, unless it directly concerns Commodore GEOS.
  38. 9.  Aliases are allowed temporarily on the CBM-GEOS Echo for new users,
  39. but *NOT* encouraged.  IF an Alias is used, the message needs to be
  40. signed with a REAL name at the end of the message.  This is a REAL
  41. NAME echo, and the ALIAS needs to be corrected as soon as possible.
  42. 10. Please try to make sure the SUBJECT being discussed in the body of
  43. the message is mentioned in the SUBJECT TITLE.  This rule is to
  44. assist those CBM-GEOS Users who scan Subject Titles looking for
  45. help with a particular GEOS Program, Application, Utility, etc.
