  22.                        The AUTOMOTIVE Conference Rulz

  25.        Just a note on the 'Car Wars' that almost always comes up in
  26.        the discussion of anything automotive.  The bashing of any
  27.        manufacturer or make of automobile is inevitable and, I guess
  28.        acceptable, but don't make a big deal about it.  Life goes on
  29.        and someone's choice of basic transportation, race car or a fan
  30.        of another manufacturer, is their own bag.
  31.  
  32.        I don't care if you drive American iron and hate Jap junk or
  33.        you drive Japanese perfection and think everything else is
  34.        crap, just don't bash the guy who owns something you don't
  35.        like.  By the same token, don't be put off by someone who
  36.        doesn't like your choice, that's life.
  37.  
  38.        We're here to discuss our automotive common interests and help
  39.        each other with problems when they come up.  Let's keep it
  40.        friendly and help those who come along, asking for our help.
  41.  
  42.        With that, here's the rules;
  43.  
  44.     1. Keep to the topic. I know we are all people and will
  45.        occasionally get bent out of shape with some off topic
  46.        conversations from time to time. (who was it that was having
  47.        a Howitzer conversation in here...) Please keep these off
  48.        topic threads short and sweet.
  49.  
  50.        The topic IS anything AUTOMOTIVE, but, I'm open minded enough
  51.        that, if you can tie whatever else into the world of cars and
  52.        anything automotive, I usually won't say anything. Motorcycle
  53.        discussions are welcome. This echo is not just for 1/4 mile
  54.        automobiles.
  55.  
  56.     2. Cars and profanity sometimes go hand in hand in the real world.
  57.        However, this was Pummill's World and he asked that profanity
  58.        be kept to a BARE minimum.
  59.  
  60.     3. If someone asks a "stupid" question, do NOT flame them or you
  61.        will get REAL nasty netmail from me. The idea is to bring
  62.        MORE people into the world of automotive knowledge, not drive
  63.        them away with snide comments. If you cannot say anything nice
  64.        then keep the fingers away from the Reply key.
  65.  
  66.     4. You may post 'personal' items for sale here. If someone asks if
  67.        anyone else has an automotive item for sale, -anyone- (personal
  68.        or commercial, whether in fidonet on the WWW or owns, manages a
  69.        store, etc.), may post a reply to it.  If you have a commercial
  70.        text file all set up for that, so beit.
  71.  
  72.     5. I reserve the right to alter the rules as is deemed necessary
  73.        due to changes in the atmosphere of the echo.
  74.  
  75.     6. This echo may NOT be gated out of Fidonet in any shape, form,
  76.        or fashion without the moderators consent.
  77.  
  78.     7. These rules are a living document and I reserve the right to
  79.        change them as I see necessary.

  81.     8. Fidonet Zone 2 Sysops and users, take note;
  82.  
  83.        It has come to the attention of this moderator that an echomail
  84.        policy, specifically EchoPol 1 and hereafter referred to as EP1,
  85.        is in force in Zone 2.
  86.  
  87.        Be advised that this echomail policy is not binding in Zone 1,
  88.        nor this echo. Zone 2 Sysops, by posting in this echo hereby forfeit
  89.        any rights of protection provided under the auspices of EchoPol 1.

  93.        As your Moderator, I would like to confine my moderatorial
  94.        duties to updating the echo every six months as required; I
  95.        do not wish to spend a great deal of time "keeping order."

  97.        Disruptions, abusiveness or violations of the rules will be
  98.        dealt with by the Moderator only, in a manner he deems most
  99.        fit.

  102.        the address is posted above.  Having said that, all it really
  103.        takes to enjoy this echo can be said in a few words:
