Their are seven choices for your character classname you will be asked to select. Choose given these abilities: A Fighter for extra strength during combat, Magic User for spell casting, Thief for picklocking, Cleric can damn undead, Paladin or Ranger for tracking, Druid for following, or a Lady can hide, run, and use extra attack commands. You will be prompted for seven values for your character statistics. The total of the seven values will be averaged. The average must be less than or equal to 12. Each of the seven values has a specific use. Strength is used in combat, Intelligence for picklocking doors, Wisdom for casting spells, Dexterity for stealth in combat, Constitution for being resurrected if you die, Piety for being resurrected and combat, Charisma used for when you encounter monsters if they attack on sight. Some example enter values are: 18, 10, 10, 18, 8, 8, 12. Each value is entered one entry at a time. There are eight race types for you to select from for your character. The Human is the most common. Elf, Gnome, and Dwarf are used the second most. Halfling, Half-elf, and Half-orc are third. Ogre is the last. Each one of the race selections have one or more statistics raised. Gnomes have their weapon proficiency raised for 15%. Half- elves have their thrusting weapon proficiency raised 5%. Half-orcs have sharp weapon proficiency raised 5%. Humans have strength raised one point. Elves have dexterity raised by one point. Dwarves have intelligence raised by a point. Halflings have wisdom raised by one point. Ogres have strength and dexterity raised by a point. You will be prompted to choose your weapon proficiency. There are four to choose from. The Blunt weapon is one which is used like a staff. The next one is Pole weapon. Clerics can only use Blunt or Pole weapons. The other weapon proficiencies to choose from are Sharp and Thrusting. Sharp weapon proficiency is the most common. Your character statistics increase as you defeat monsters in levels higher than you when using your weapon type. There are two selections to be made for your alignment. The first is your character nature. You must select from Good, Neutral, or Evil. The second selection is made from Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic. Your player character behaviour is used for attack modes.
