  9. This readme covers the following:

  18. (1) INSTALL:
  19.  
  20. Important: While the program is self-extracting and self-installing,
  21. before you start the installation, (1) you must close all other
  22. running applications/utilities (including those in the systray) and
  23. the antivirus programs if any; (2) if you are with Win 2000 "SP 1", you
  24. must update it to at least "SP 2" first (before installation).

  26. If you are to re-install the program, please uninstall your old copy
  27. first (to avoid multiple-entry appearing on the "Remove/Uninstall"
  28. panel of Windows).  The uninstallation follows the standard Windows
  29. procedure.

  31. During the installation process, you will be asked to confirm whether
  32. to keep your existing common system file when it is older than the one
  33. being installed by the program.

  35. Please note that this program does not meddle with your Windows registry
  36. and it avoids using any ActiveX control.

  39. (2) NOTES ON WINDOWS 2000 "SP 1"
  40.  
  41. This program runs well on Win 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 and XP.  Due to a
  42. bug in Win 2000, if you have "SP 1", please update it to "SP 2" or a 
  43. later patch first before installing this program (As long as it is not
  44. "SP 1", it would not matter whether you update to the latest patch or
  45. not).

  48. (3) AVOID HAVING "SETUP.EXE" OF OTHER SOFTWARE IN SAME FOLDER
  49.  
  50. Do not place the installation file of this program in a folder where
  51. there is already a "Setup.exe" belonging to another software (Otherwise
  52. the installation process may be mixed up with that "Setup.exe").

  55. (4) UNINSTALL:

  57. To uninstall the program, use the Add/Remove Programs applet in the
  58. Windows Control Panel.
