  40. It does it consistantly, every day.  Fortunately, I check each morning
  41. for messages which have not been exported "Read", and move those with
  42. the PCB MOVE command to the end of the base so they get hit next time
  43. around.

  62. active list, and output a list of new/removed newsgroups.  If you don't know

  105. I think this question was asked a while back, but I don't recall
  106. seeing a reply...

  108. When a listserver sends out mail to names on it's list (not
  109. necessarility the PCBUUCP listserver), does it send individual
  110. messages to everyone on the list, or does it send one message to each
  111. site, with the same message then being processed for each user at
  112. each site...???  In otherwords, will my UUCP feed only be sending me
  113. a SINGLE message, then PCBUUCP will copy it to each name in the
  114. message...???

  116. The reason I am interested is that if the only drawback to letting
  117. individual users request mailing list is disk space, and NOT connect
  118. time to my UUCP feed, then it might be easier to NOT use the PCBUUCP
  119. facility for putting incoming mailing lists into their own respective
  120. public conferences.

  122. Right now I have about 5 or 6 lists coming into 5 or 6 conferences,
  123. and each one is really only being accessed by one person..., so it
  124. seems like a bit of a bother to do it this way, rather than just
  125. letting folks subscribe in the "normal" way.  Disk storage is
  126. cheap..., connect time is NOT.

  214. Someone else may well point toward an existing utility. If not, look at
  215. combining grep, sort and diff programs in a batch file to achieve the
  216. result. It should take from 15 minutes to an evening, depending on your
  217. familiarity with the programs.

  273. I've recently changed my e-mail address from:

  281. The problem is, when mail comes in for the old address (i.e from people
  282. who don't know about the new one yet), PCBUUCP sends it right back out
  283. again and will tell them its an invalid address or something like that.

  285. Is there any way with the current version of PCBUUCP (1.1f) to tell it
  286. to redirect any mail from stargate.actrix.gen.nz to stargate.gen.nz to
  287. allow it to still be imported OR have an "AKA" domain that meants I can
  288. have 2 e-mail addresses set up in PCBUUCP to allow mail to be imported
  289. for both addresses.

  291. Roy, in response to your message I read on your BBS.

  293. I set up an entry of stargate.actrix.gen.nz in the "Don't Route" Field.
  294. BUT, when mail came in for that address, it simply repackaged it and
  295. send it out again on the next mail run.  A further mail run later, it
  296. came back in and got repackaged and sent back out again ... and so on.
  297. It is not importing this mail into my system.

  299. When PCB-UUCP processes an e-mail message addressed to
  300. firstname.lastname@stargate.actrix.gen.nz, it routes it to ACTRIX (my
  301. host) even though I've got the stargate.actrix.gen.nz address in the
  302. Don't Route Field.  Is this how I'm supposed to do it?
  303.  
  304. If I use the ROUTING file, it will still try and repack it and send it
  305. out to my other name.  I'd much like it to just import the messages
  306. anyway without having to send the mail around a few continents first
  307. :-)... is there ANY way around this?

  425. I have set all of my UUCP news conferences for a destination of netsys,
  426. however each outgoing message gets help in the directory:
  427. WAFFLE/SPOOL/NETSYS     directory.  However it never gets sent out.  All
  428. other E-Mail that is also held in the same spool directory gets properly
  429. sent to my uucp account, when the UUCICO.EXE program runs.

  460. He received back 3 messages each one containing a portion of the file that was
  461. supposed to be mail back to him. What he received was a file attachment of 27k
  462. to the first message and no attachements to second or third messages. The file
  463. that was attached was processed by PCBUUCP and should have been roughly around
  464. 100K when all put together.
  465.  
  466. Waht I think happened is that the file was named the same in all three messages
  467. and PCBUUCP just kept replacing the file with the "latest one". This does
  468. happen in the case with the alt.binaries group and having them converted to
  469. files.
  470.  
  471. I would like to suggest that PCBUUCP should check to see if the file does exist
  472. and if so change the name of the new incoming file in some shape or fashion so
  473. that the previously received file with the same name will remain intact.

  528. a twit filter.  In order to temporarily prevent email from coming in
  529. I have put an entry in my ALIAS file, redirecting it to a

  943. The problem is, when mail comes in for the old address (i.e from people
  944. who don't know about the new one yet), PCBUUCP sends it right back out
  945. again and will tell them its an invalid address or something like that.

  948. to redirect any mail from stargate.actrix.gen.nz to stargate.gen.nz to
  949. allow it to still be imported OR have an "AKA" domain that meants I can
  950. have 2 e-mail addresses set up in PCBUUCP to allow mail to be imported
  951. for both addresses.

  953. Roy, in response to your message I read on your BBS.

  955. I set up an entry of stargate.actrix.gen.nz in the "Don't Route" Field.
  956. BUT, when mail came in for that address, it simply repackaged it and
  957. send it out again on the next mail run.  A further mail run later, it
  958. came back in and got repackaged and sent back out again ... and so on.
  959. It is not importing this mail into my system.

  961. When PCB-UUCP processes an e-mail message addressed to
  962. firstname.lastname@stargate.actrix.gen.nz, it routes it to ACTRIX (my
  963. host) even though I've got the stargate.actrix.gen.nz address in the

  986. message.  Since you worked with Sparky on the 1stReader/PCBUUCP
  987. interface, you might want to let him know about this one:

  989. Qmail did not find the message.  Rosemail did.  A 'Q S' command in

  1039. He received back 3 messages each one containing a portion of the file that was
  1040. supposed to be mail back to him. What he received was a file attachment of 27k
  1041. to the first message and no attachements to second or third messages. The file
  1042. that was attached was processed by PCBUUCP and should have been roughly around
  1043. 100K when all put together.

  1045. Waht I think happened is that the file was named the same in all three messages
  1046. and PCBUUCP just kept replacing the file with the "latest one". This does
  1047. happen in the case with the alt.binaries group and having them converted to
  1048. files.
  1049.  
  1050. I would like to suggest that PCBUUCP should check to see if the file does exist
  1051. and if so change the name of the new incoming file in some shape or fashion so
  1052. that the previously received file with the same name will remain intact.
