Call Back Verification has become the most used method to verify that
a person is a legitimate caller to a bulletin board system. The CBV
process is simple enough for everyone to utilize, and merely makes the
bulletin board call the user back at the phone number that was given
by the user at logon for the first time.
If you've never been through a call-back verification before, don't
worry, as it is by no means difficult, and in the next few minutes, we
will guide you through a typical call back verification session.
CBV will hangup after you select a number to be called back at. The
number that you select should be the same number to the phone line
that your modem is hooked up to. Your modem will most likely display
"NO CARRIER" and/or an "OK" on the screen when CBV has succesfully
hung up.
