│░░░░ INTRODUCTION ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░│
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
LOGMAN is a program that I designed to give a quick and easy way for sysops
to run as many logon events as they would like, but not burden the users with
the drudgery of sitting through screen after screen of events to which they
pay no attention. LOGMAN will allow the users to select the events that are
interesting or informative to them, and bypass all others. One exception to
this rule is that there is a built-in function to allow sysops to REQUIRE an
event to be run. The program is easy to set up, and requires no mainenance.

│░░░░ REQUIREMENTS ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░│
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
I have currently tested Logon Manager on WWIV 4.22-4.24 and I don't see any
reason that it would have any problems on other WWIV versions. It's very
small, takes minimal memory, and is multi-instance compatible. With the
final release of WWIV 4.24, I may add RIP capability.

│░░░░ INSTALLATION ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░│
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
1.) Put the LOGMAN.EXE and LOGCFG.EXE programs into the main BBS directory.
2.) Set LOGMAN.EXE as your "Logon Event".
3.) Run the LOGCFG.EXE program and set up all events that you would like to
have available to your users (this can be run whenever changes occur).
(Make SURE to specify the PATH TO YOUR BBS in your LOGCFG.EXE program!)
4.) The program will automatically create the LOGMAN.USR files as your users
log on and select their events.
5.) Add the "LOGMAN.EXE /EDIT" command in your "ONLINE PROGRAMS" section to
allow users to change their selections after their initial choice has
been made. (They will only be prompted for their logon event choices
automatically once)
NOTE: If problems arise down the line, the easiest way to fix them is to
delete the LOGMAN.USR file. If there's still a problem, you probably
have something set wrong in your LOGMAN.CFG file.

Registration of LOGMAN is greatly appreciated! I ask for a $10.00 donation
towards development of further products like Logon Manager. If you can not
afford a donation at this time, just drop me a note or send me E-Mail and let
me know what you think of the program. Thank you for using the program!

│░░░░ FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░│
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Plans are already in the works for the next version. If this version appears
to be stable, I intend on adding options for events that can be specific to
age, gender, and security level. I also plan on having a really nice RIP
graphics interface with selection by "buttons". Finally, I intend on having
a built-in "NEWS" system with news events that the sysop can specify to be
shown one time only, or every time a user logs on.
If you have any suggestions for additions or improvements, feel free to send
them along!

└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
*I would like to thank Gordon Ratzloff, my friend and mentor, who complained
constantly about my logon events messing up his macros. (Inspiration <g>!)
*I would like to thank Zack Ives, my friend and programmer, who helped me dig
out the bugs and gave me some FANTASTIC pointers in the programming! "I'm
glad he's on OUR side!"
*I would like to thank Michael Perin, my friend and tech-wizard, for keeping
this bulletin board running with bubble-gum and bailing wire if necessary! I
couldn't have done it without you!
*I would like to thank my 11 month-old twins (Bobby and Megan) who kept me up
at all hours of the night... when I come up with my best ideas. =)
*I would MOSTLY like to thank Becki, my friend and my wife, for keeping me
sane and supporting all of my weird ideas and hobbies. I love you!
