  2. The following information is very important for people upgrading
  3. from an earlier version of FOOD FIGHT to this version.
  4.  
  5.                   PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
  6.  
  7. General upgrade rules:
  8. For most upgrades, you only need to alter the configuration
  9. file as needed, and copy FOODFITE.EXE, FFMAINT.EXE and FFBULL.EXE
  10. into your Food Fight subdirectory.  This will ensure that your
  11. player and statistics data file do not get corrupted.  Most
  12. upgrades will be seamless as far as your callers are concerned.
  13. They will simply see new features appear, and a few things
  14. change.  Also, make sure that you make FFUSER.DOC available
  15. for download for your callers.  This has complete players
  16. information, including new features.

  19.         IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 4.3, 4.4 or 4.5 TO 4.6

  21. 1. Copy FOODFITE.EXE over the old one
  22. 2. Add line 27 to your config for daily interest
  23. 3. Modify line 19 in your config as desire for stealing
  24.

  26.         IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 4.2 or 4.3 TO 4.4

  29. 1. Copy FOODFITE.EXE over the old one.
  30. 2. Create a SYSOP.LST if you desire
  31.

  33.         IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 4.0 or 4.1 TO 4.2

  36. 1. Copy FOODFITE.EXE over the old one.
  37. 2. Add line 26 to your config file.

  40.         IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 3.3 TO 4.0

  43. 1. You must add lines 24 and 25 to the config file:
  44.    Line 24 is the Tax Man Option: Yes = tax man, No = No tax man
  45.    Line 25 is the Spy cost/availability, 0 = no spy
  46.  
  47. 2. Copy FOODFITE.EXE over the old one
  48.  
  49. 3. Copy FFMAINT.EXE over the old one
  50.  
  51. 4. Run UPG40MSG.EXE to convert IMESSAGE.DAT to the new format.
  52.    If IMESSAGE.DAT does not exist no need to run this program
  53.    If something goes wrong, simply delete IMESSAGE.DAT

  57.         IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 3.2 TO 3.3

  60. 1. You must add line 23 to the configuration file.  This value is
  61.    either YES or NO, and controls the availability of the
  62.    Loans option.
  63. 2. Copy the FOODFITE.EXE over your older version
  64.

  69. The only change was to FOODFITE.EXE, so copy that over your
  70. old copy, and enjoy!

  76. Simply copy FOODFITE.EXE and FFBULL.EXE over your old EXE files.
