[v3.0] ALIAS option NOT working properly.
When entering a message, the body of the message was being
converted to upper case. With this version we will not
convert to upper case.
Added 'last date played' to Bulletins for NON-InterBBS only
If a Player logged on prior to midnight on the last day of the
month and plays past midnight on the 1st of the new month, the
monthly maintenance routine would 'kick in' during the players
logon.
A NEW option has been added to the CFG file to control whether
or not you wish to have the door LOG callers (ON/OFF) to a
USAGE file. A separate file is created for each Node.
10/24/95
[v2.9] Player was unable to use valid tiles, IF there was NO double
in either the player or computer's hands.
07/01/95
[v2.8] Error # 55 generated after sending a message followed by a
player displaying the High Scores.
06/11/95
[v2.7] Added a NEW option that will allow the player to send/read a
message to any other game players. The player will also be
given the option of replying to a message they have just read.
All messages will be maintained within the Door itself and will
have no connection to the BBS message bases.
Added another CFG option to control the new message option
The InterBBS program creates a Prior Month Top 10 file. The
file will be displayed whenever the player requests a High
Score display and/or at door exit, if the .T10 file is found
in the Door directory!
01/08/95
[v2.6] We have closed a loophole in the logic of the program that
allowed the caller to PASS back to the Computer (even though
the player had a move in his/her hand) when the Boneyard
was empty.
Eliminated the 'ANSI not detected....' message since there are
a few communications packages out there that give off their
own type of ANSI.
If using the TRIBBS.SYS system file, the door always presented
the opening screen in black and white. Will now be presented
in color.
A first time caller to the Door was being given a black and
white screen throughout the Door. The caller would then have
to use the Door option to toggle the color on. The Door will
now default to having the color turned on and the caller will
have to use the color toggle, on the game menu, to turn it off.
The Door knows that the caller is the Sysop, if the caller is
record #1 in the BBS' user database. The BBS software passes
that record number to the door via the system file. Some BBS
software does not pass the actual record number but passes a
relative number (ie: record #1 is passed as record #0). If the
number being passsed is 0, the Door will not know it is the
Sysop calling. We will now recognize the caller as the Sysop
if their record number is 0 or 1.
As more and more BBS' use Alias', we have been asked to
provide a way for the callers to use their Alias' rather
than their LogonName. All Sunrise Doors will now have this
Sysop configurable option in the CFG file.
If participating in an InterBBS game, the number of games per
day will NOT be overridden by the security specific entries in
the CFG file.
08/21/94
[v2.5] There were some reports of players only being able to play ONE
game, even though the CFG file entry indicated more plays per
day. The player was able to leave the Door and come back in
and play again. This version hopefully fixes that problem.
08/11/94
[v2.4] When player has reached the maximum number fo games allowed
they still had to respond to the "Another Game?..."
question. Program will now detect maximum number of games
reached and NOT ask the question.
The number of bones in the computer's hand display was not
being updated if the computer had the high double. The display
would be updated correctly on the second and subsequent turns.
A new option has been added to the CFG file to control the
number of high score entries you wish to be displayed when
the player chooses the appropriate option OR when they are
leaving the game. There is no maximum/minmum that can be
displayed OR you can use ZERO(0) to display ALL entries.
If the XXXX/YYYY entries in the CFG file were entered in
LOWERCASE, the Door would display a CFG error and return to BBS
Using a NEW entry in the CFG, you can now define the number of
months to retain in the HALL of FAME files.
Added a new option to the playing menu that allows the player
to toggle the Color On/Off.
You will have to run a conversion program called USREXPND
(included in the Door ZIP file). This program is to be run ONCE
ONLY if you are upgrading from an earlier version of the Door.
If you do not wish to run the conversion program you can just
delete the .USR file (deleting the USR file causes the game to
start over with all prior scores being lost).
The program will now check to see if you have any moves in your
hand. It will NOT allow the player to draw a tile if moves
exist in player's hand.
03/12/94
[v2.3] Past problems with large values in the Door.Sys or other System
Files (Drop Files) generating an OVERLOW (Error 6) error, have
been resolved.
When the Door displays the opening screen, it asks if you want
instructions and you are forced to enter a Y or N. This was
installed to handle problems encountered when using Digiboards.
With this release you can choose whether you want to force a
y/n OR if you want to use the y/N format which allows the
player to press ENTER for the default N. You must update your
CFG file, see DOC file.
New Feature: If the player has the high double AND that double
is a double five, the player will receive a 10 point bonus as
he/she would if the move resulted in a bonus during the game.
Thus a player will receive a 35 point bonus if they have the
high double AND that double is a double five.
02/26/94
[v2.2] Player's last move was not being displayed on the display if
it was the last tile in the player's hand.
If the final play by the player resulted in a Fives bonus,
the board was not relecting the FIVES total correctly.
If you QUIT a game, you will LOSE a total of the Tiles in
your hand. DOMINOES.INS (Player INSTRUCTIONS) has been
updated to reflect this change.
11/29/93
[v2.1] If running InterBBS and you are a HUB and it is the first of
the month and a current player (already in the score file)
plays the game BEFORE you have run INTERBBS.EXE with the HUB
option, the player's score for the prior month will be lost
(it was being overlaid by the new score for the month).
Players hand will be sorted to make it appear less jumbled
The Makeup days option and number of games played/remaining,
was not working properly if you left the game and came back
in to continue playing. You never lost any turns/games since
the turns/games would readjust the next day.
When playing in an InterBBS game, the BULLETINS created will
reflect the same screen as that seen when looking at the
Door's high scores (will not affect non-InterBBS games).
The Hiscore display when in the InterBBS mode, has changed.
The number of games a player has PLAYED will be shown in the
space previously occupied by the LAST DATE PLAYED. With this
change a player can now tell if the players around them have
played all their games to date or are possibly holding back.
Multiplying today's day number by the number of games allowed
per day will give the total number of PLAYS a player should
have if they are CURRENT.
New Feature: If the player gets the HIGH DOUBLE to start the
game, they will earn a 25 point BONUS, provided
they WIN THAT HAND!
New Feature: If the result of a player's tile play results in
the total of the Master Die being equal to 5 or
10, the points will accumlated and added to the
player's score ONLY IF he/she WINS the game.
Minor changes were made to accomodate the HIGH DOUBLE and
5's SCORING points display
Final move of the game was not being updated on the screen
Non-registered version will automatically reset the player's
scores anywhere from the 17th thru 29th day of use
Increased the number fo games per day allowed in the
non-registered version
09/28/93
[v2.0] If you were using DOMINOES in an InterBBS mode AND there were
duplicate names being used between some of the BBS' (ie:
SYSOP on one BBS and SYSOP on another) then the program was
duplicating names in the score file. In addition to using
this new version, you MUST delete the DOMINOE.ISC file and
allow the program to recreate it correctly.
08/24/93
[v1.9] If running the door in an InterBBS environment, the proper
scores were not being reflected when you lost points during
game play. The correct scores were being kept in the user
database but not in the ISC file.
08/16/93
[v1.8] We have received a report of a problem with the makeup days
not working for some players and working for others. It seems
that the problem is that the SYSOP was not getting the makeup
days but the players were. This bug has been in the program
since version 1.0.
Score files were not being created properly and InterBBS was
dropping players from the DOMINOE.ISC file. If you have a
Dominoes.ISC file and or a DOMINOE0.xxx file, delete them and
they will correct themselves
If you had used up all the allotted games for today and
re-entered the Door, the opening screen would 'flash' and it
would immediately display the screen informing caller that all
games had been used. It will now pause.
08/10/93
[v1.7] Introducing an INTER-BBS option whereby players may compete
against players from any number of other BBS', running
DOMINOES.. See Docs for a more indepth explanation as
well as an explanation of the new CFG option.
Added a Screen Refresh option.
Added an option to display the High Scores at any time
during the game.
Added an option to display the Instructions at any time
during the game.
When a double tile is played against a board tile of the
same value on both ends, the player will not be asked the
"Match Which End..." question. Instead it will assume the
(L)eft end.
For technical reasons we no longer support CHAIN.TXT
06/19/93
[v1.6] Removed delay at start of game.
Added support for the PCBoard /M version!
03/12/93
[v1.5] Now supports Comm Ports 0-15
Hall of Fame routine was working only partially. Correct
player was listed in HOF, but with a blank score.
If no one played the door or if the highest score obtained
during the month was zero, the game will NOT show a Hall of
Fame entry for the month.
Callers will be required to answer the "Want Instructions.."
question with a Y or N. This was required to circumvent a
problem encountered when running under WildCat's IM version.
Hall of Fame display was always displaying in color, regardless
of the color setting of the current session.
01/23/93
[v1.4] The program was not processing the double blank tile
correctly, if it was the only double in either hand. Very
hard to test this as it is rare to only have the double blank
be the highest double in either hand.
12/25/92
[v1.3] When the computer won the game, the computer's last play
was not being reflected on the screen.
New Configuration option to allow Sysop to choose whether
they want the computer to allocate 999 games to them or if
they just want to be like any other caller.
Corrected an alignment problem with the SUNHOF.ASC/ANS files.
All entries, from this point on, will be aligned properly.
You will have to manually align the existing entries (after
the next monthly maintenance run).
The Hall of Fame list will now be displayed to the player
after the High Scores (if the SUNHOF.ANS is found and the
Door is registered)
12/14/92
[v1.2] Corrected some logic that was causing incorrect scoring to
occur when the player beat the computer. All points were not
being awarded to the player and the computer was not playing
tiles it should have played.
When the Player wins it will now display the computer's hand.
11/14/92
[v1.1] Left out the option to turn off the ADOPT-A-DOOR screen.
Have added that back in which will require that you update
the CFG file. Compare Docs CFG description to the v1.0
CFG and make the appropriate change!
The detailed description of the CFG file, in the DOCs, was
incorrect. It will now reflect the correct order of the
parameters. (Always said I hated writing DOCs, this only goes
to prove my point <grin> )
Added support for Fossil-based Multi-Port boards.
11/11/92
[v1.0] Initial release
