John Dailey's Dungeon Master v1.0
Copyright (c) 1996 by John Dailey
Written & programmed by John Dailey
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
░ Brief Overview ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
John Dailey's Dungeon Master is, without a doubt, one of the most
advanced on-line game applications to date, breaking the high-speed
barrier with 3-D ANSI dungeons, awesome ANSI graphics and sound.
John Dailey's Dungeon Master, is the equivalent of a game system that
utilizes game modules to bring an infinite array of gaming adventures
filled with ANSI graphics and sound to your ordinary public BBS system.
With Dungeon Master, you "plug-in" pre-written game modules into the
configuration and play them. Up to 255 modules can be installed and
played (on or off-line of a BBS) into a single copy of the Dungeon
Master executable program.
In conjunction with the Dungeon Master Construction Set, Dungeon Master
becomes a powerful tool in the actual creation of on-line games. The
Dungeon Master Construction Set allows ANYONE to design and build a
role-playing game that "plugs" into the Dungeon Master game environment
itself. No computer programming knowledge is required, no drawing
capabilities are required (hundreds of images are included). Nothing is
required except for some spare time and a little bit of imagination.

░ Why Should I Check It Out? ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
You'll want to check out this extreme on-line game package for any of
the following reasons:
* You're looking for on-line software that doesn't "bow down" to
low baud rates.
* You're looking for something DIFFERENT from all the other
menu-based on-line games.
* You're looking for a graphic (you want to see that monster, not
imagine it) and/or sound filled (you want to hear when you hit
something with your broadsword) on-line game package.
* You're interested in role-playing games.
* You enjoy playing on-line games both on and off-line.
* You're interested in designing, drawing, writing, creating, and
playing your own role-playing campaigns with little limitation.

░ Game System Features ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Whatever the reason that you're interested, John Dailey's Dungeon Master
aims to satisfy both the hard-to-please sysop and user. Here are just A
FEW FEATURES of the game software and construction set:
* 3-D ANSI solid polygon map/dungeon display. Dungeons, cities,
forests and more are all displayed as you would see them
wandering around - and all in 3-D perspective.
* ANSI display of monsters, stairways, other players, objects,
and more. When you encounter a monster or another player, you
actually see them, not read about them!
* ANSI music and sound effects. Hear when you hit a monster with
your broadsword, and hear when a monster hits YOU with its
weapon. When you cast a spell, you hear the magic at work.
When you get healed by the healers in the temples, you hear
them chant.
* Player specific spell learning. Players can pick and choose
what spells they want to learn. The game software handles
keeping track of spells learned, and those spells can be viewed
at any time by viewing the characters spell book.
* Multiple opponent groups of multiple opponents. Encounter from
one monster up to five groups of ninety-nine monsters in each
group. In other words, not only can you encounter just one
skeleton, but you can run into five skeletons, two giant rats,
one zombie, and sixty-two wights!
* Easy, yet challenging RPG style gaming. Your character is
based on the five basic attributes. However, the game takes
into account armor class, save throws, to-hit AC 0 values,
physical ailments (poisoning, paralysis, etc) and more to make
combat and interaction as RPG realistic as possible.
* Ability for players to find items while wandering dungeons or
after defeating monsters.
* Items can and may be cursed. Equipping a cursed items may or
may not do damage against you. Items that are cursed may even
be sold to the equipment shoppe if you're not aware of the
curse, and bought back by other players!
* Characters can have physical ailments including poisoning,
insanity, paralysis, flesh to stone, possession, ageing, and
monster-attraction. View yourself, and you'll see your
character look as if he/she actually had that ailment. In
other words, if you're character has been aged, they'll look
like they're old!
* Running inventory for all items sold to equipment shoppes. As
players find and sell items to the equipment shoppe, they will
remain in the inventory until purchased.
* Capability to view item characteristics based on character
intelligence. The more intelligent your character is, the more
you can discover about an item you are carrying.
* Spell casting at nearly any time. Cast spells at monsters, at
other players, at yourself. Need to heal hitpoints? Cast a
cure hitpoints spell on yourself before getting attacked. Need
to "phase" or "burn" a doorway in a dungeon wall? Cast a
phase-door spell. Need a "flashlight" to see your way in the
sewers? Cast a light spell to light the way. Need to levitate
up through a port-hole? Cast a levitation spell!
* Ability for players to use items at nearly any time. Got an
item that teleports you to safety? Use it! Got an item that
causes light and you're in the dark? Use it, in combat or out!
* Multiple attacks as characters increases in level. Faced with
four groups of monsters? If you've got four attacks per round,
they should be no real problem!
* Auto-dungeon mapping. As you explore dungeons, your character
keeps track. Pulling out your maps will show you exactly where
you have and haven't been.
