Deluxe Chase
v1.0
by
Everett Stephens
Support: Code 3 BBS
(502) 375-4657 (14.4k)
QUICK SETUP:
1) Create a directory to hold all DELUXE CHASE files.
2) Unzip DCHASExx.ZIP into the the above directory.
3) Modify the supplied DCHASE.CFG configuration file as follows:
........... Location of System FIle (See Below)
CODE 3 BBS Your BBS Name
Everett Sysop's First Name
Stephens Sysop's Last name
NONE Full drive:\path\filename for Top Score
Bulletin, or NONE
7 Sysop-defined difficulty (see below)
........... = Replace with only ONE of the following:
C:\xxxx\PCBOARD.SYS <- For PCBoard systems using PCBOARD.SYS
C:\xxxx\CALLINFO.BBS <- For Wildcat! systems prior to v3.0
C:\xxxx\DOOR.SYS <- For ANY system that support DOOR.SYS
C:\xxxx\DORINFOx.DEF <- For ANY system that support DORINFOx.DEF
C:\xxxx\SFDOORS.DAT <- For Spitfire.
C:\xxxx\TRIBBS.SYS <- For TriBBS.
C:\xxxx\CHAIN.TXT <- For WWIV.
(Substitute the correct path for the above 'xxxx'.)
-> -> -> NOTE:THERE SHOULD BE NO BLANK LINES IN THIS FILE ! <- <- <-
4) The sysop-defined difficulty factor is the chance that an extra
ammunition clip will appear in each screen. It can be set from 3
to 8, where it represents the % x10 chance an ammo clip will appear.
For example, a 3 difficulty represents a 30% chance on each level
that a clip will appear. A 7 represents a 70% chance.
5) Create a batch file or modify the DCHASE file supplied as follows:
ECHO off
CD\xxxx\DOORS\DCHASE Location of Deluxe Chase Files
DCHASE DCHASE.CFG EXE filename and CFG filename (Name
used in creating file in #3 above)
CD\xxxx
6) When running more than one node, be sure to supply a different
configuration name for each node (like NODE1.CFG, etc.), and/or
change the first entry in the .CFG to support environment
variables (as needed).
7) If running with Fossil-based multi-port boards add
/FD to the line containing the CFG name as follows:
DCHASE DCHASE.CFG /FD
8) The files DCHASE10.DAT and INSTRUCT.DAT _MUST_ be present
in the execution directory and in unaltered form.
For more details on setup and configuration, refer to DCHASE.DOC.
Registration displays your BBS name and registration number on the
opening menu as well as the elimination of the ShareWare delay built into
the opening screen. To register Deluxe Chase, please fill out the
registration form (REGISTER.FRM) and mail it along with the registration
fee to the name and address on the form.
The latest version of Deluxe Chase and other fine SAS door programs
are always available for download from Code 3 BBS. Remember, should you
have any problems, questions or suggestions, be sure to drop me a message
on Code 3 BBS.
