SETUP.EXE for Late Nite Doorware.
(C)1991 Marvin Davis
This program, SETUP.EXE is for Late-Nite Doorware only. It is provided to
those users unfamiliar with the setup for these games. It is not required
by them to set up and is offered as a convience to those new to these door
programs. Simply run SETUP from DOS in the Door game directory that you
are going to use to setup a particular game.
SPACE bar toggles data fields that are "on" or "off" and those fields that
require data to be entered manually require that the SPACE bar be used to
activate the prompt for data entry. Look at the bottom status line for
help in that area.
The SETUP for "multinode" BBS software programs is supported from 1-4 nodes
and for nodes greater than this you can simply re-name the file at DOS to
nodes 1-99 as described in the particular games ".doc" file. DOS filespec
on the ".cfg" files has been shortened to allow numbers from 01-99 to be
added onto the end of the filename(s).
Read each games ".doc" file for full information on each game and important
info that is particular to each different one. BASIC game.cfg file setups
are identical in all new versions of Late Nite Doorware.
All games are written for BIOS support. No special drivers or FOSSIL type
communications are required or needed. If you have to use a FOSSIL type
driver with your BBS, use one that you can de-initialize and all BIOS to
access INT-14 and restore 'normal' communications access on your machine.
Upon re-entry to your BBS software, most look to see if the device driver
is installed and will re-initialize it and restore FOSSIL operations. It
is a tad tricky on some setups but NO program that uses BIOS will work at
all if the INT-14 (asynchronous serial operations) is snatched away from
normal BIOS access. Keep the "DIRECT" screen configuration in all game
config files, unless you know "exactly" what its for and what it means.
It is for SCREEN write methods and has nothing to do with serial port
communications.
Thanks for trying them and feel free to contact Late Nite BBS for any help
you may need to expand a setup for your particular BBS's needs.
