  4. Requirements:
  5. DOS 3.3 or higher, SHARE.EXE loaded, ANSI.SYS loaded, 
  6. 400K RAM, Mouse(optional)

  8. These files should be in your BRAINEX.ZIP file:

  29. Automatic Install instructions
  30. ------------------------------
  31. Be sure you have unzipped the above files to a work directory.

  33. From the dos prompt type:
  34.  
  35. INSTALL
  36.  
  37. You will be asked to choose a drive to install the Brainex files.
  38.  
  39. All of your door files be will placed there, so be sure to pick a drive
  40. with plenty of room for future doors!
  41.  
  42. After the files are copied you will shown the HELP file. You can read
  43. it online, print it. To exit hit F10.
  44.  
  45. * For best results: READ THE HELP FILE! (BRAINEX.HLP)

  47. Next, The Brainex Door manager will run.  Allow some time for it to
  48. initialize...
  49.  
  50. Follow the setup instructions and answer the questions as needed!
  51.  
  52. SETUP NOTES
  53. ===========
  54. The install program will create a BRAINEX directory in the root of the 
  55. drive you specify. All Door Manager files will be copied there. Your door
  56. files will also be copied there automatically by the SETUP.BAT file 
  57. included in each door zip file.  The BRAINEX directory will be added to 
  58. your path statement, and the environment variable: 
  59.  
  60. BRAINEX=C:\BRAINEX\BRAINEX.INI 
  61.  
  62. will be added by a SET command. The drive letter will be the actual one you 
  63. specify.
  64.  
  65.  
  66. Once the setup is complete, you can delete the files from the work directory.
  67. REBOOT to let DOS update the PATH and SET commands added to the your
  68. AUTOEXEC.BAT file by Brainex.  To configure Brainex for your BBS,
  69. change to the BRAINEX directory, then type BRAINSET.

  72. Read NETWORK.DOC for information about networks and Brainex!

  75. ========

  77. * If for any reason your AUTOEXEC.BAT file did not get updated, you
  78. can manually add the SET and PATH modifications using an ASCII text
  79. editor. On line 2 of AUTOEXEC.BAT place:

  81. SET BRAINEX=C:\BRAINEX\BRAINEX.INI
  82.  
  83. Next add the BRAINEX directory to your path statement. If you installed
  84. to C: you would add:
  85.  
  86. C:\BRAINEX
  87.

  92. Once you have edited AUTOEXEC.BAT, reboot the computer, then run
  93. BRAINSET from the Brainex directory.

  97. =============
  98. If you get errors using Desqview, try these settings:
  99.  
  100. Set OPTMIZE COMMUNICATIONS to YES
  101. Set USE MATH COPROCESSOR to YES if using a 486.
