~The object of Booby Trap is to find and mark the 25 booby traps
randomlly placed in a rectangle field of 152 squares...without
tripping one of them.
~Your NUM LOCK key must be enabled to activate your key pad, which
is used to move the cursor around the playing board.
~The Sysop has the option of selecting two modes of play; Safe Square
and No Safe Square. If the Sysop has the "Safe" square feature
activated the game will start with the cusor on a square that does
not have a booby trap and is safe to clear. This will either display
an empty square or a number.
~To clear the square you are sitting on you can use either the
space bar, 0 key on the key pad or the C key. The [T] key toggles
the 3 colors available for the squares. The [N] key toggles the
4 colors available for the numbers.
~If there is a booby trap in a square you clear, you will see a BT
and the game will end. If there is one or more booby traps in any of
the squares touching the square you cleared, you will see a number
from 1 to 8, indicating how many booby traps there are around you.
If there is no number then there is no booby trap in any of the
touching squares (hint hint...this means they are safe). If you
think a square is booby trapped you can mark that square with the
5 or M key and a red flag will appear in that square. You can hit
the 5 or M key again to unflag the square if you think you made a
mistake in flagging it.
~If you trip a booby trap then that game will end and you will
either be given another chance to play or if you have played
all your games for the day then the game will end. If the Make Up
feature is active and you have missed any games from previous days
you will be given the chance to make them up. When you trip a
booby trap all the squares will clear showing the placement of the
other booby traps and also which ones you had right or wrong. A BT
is a hidden booby trap, FBT is a flagged booby trap and NBT is a
square flagged but has no booby trap. If you can not play all your
allocated games, you can come back to finish them. This is only
good for the same 24 hour period and only for games you have
not started and quit out of.

~You score 100 points for each booby trap found on the board and
if you find all 25 booby traps without tripping one you will get a
bonus of 500 points. If you find and flag all the booby traps
between 120 seconds and 100 seconds, you get a 300 point bonus. If
it is between 100 seconds and 80 seconds you get a 400 point bonus.
If your time is less than 80 seconds you get a 500 point bonus.

~Time Challenge has you running against the clock to find and flag
all the booby traps. If you can find them all in less than 120
seconds you will receive a bonus based on how fast you were. Your
best time for each win will be kept and shown.

~I hope you like the game and any enhancement you can suggest may
be added in a later version. I can be reached through FIDO 105/314,
105/317 or 105/330, or by calling my board at the numbers below.
In addition, I read the DOORWARE and WILDCAT Echos. I will respond
to any messages addressed to me. From the game you can Hit F to
provide Feedback to the Sysop. Tell him what you think of the game.
