BBS Adveriser 1.2
-----------------
(C) 1995 David Kerr
Well, you can pretty much guess what this is. I didnt spend
alot of time making it. It was because I hate my bulletin menu,
graffiti walls, and doors full of BBS ads that detract from the
environment of my system, so I needed to remove that and put it all
in one contained place, this.
It is not the easiest thing to use but I can use it so you
should be smart enough to figure it out. I made it for myself so...
.To install, first edit BBSAD.CFG
-BBSAD.CFG- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
GAP <-- This is set to your dropfile type, see below
C:\TRIBBS <-- Path to dropfile
No Quarter <-- BBS name
David Kerr <-- Sysop name
19200 <-- Locked Baud Rate, 0 for not locked
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.To call it in a batch file do this:
-BBSAD.BAT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
cd\bbsad
bbsad bbsad.cfg
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.BBS Types for Line #1
GAP (DOOR.SYS)
TRIBBS (TRIBBS.SYS)
PCB (PCBOARD.SYS)
SF (SFDOORS.DAT)
WC (CALLINFO.SYS)
RBBS (DORINFO#.DEF)
WWIV (CHAIN.TXT)
To log on locally without a BBS drop file:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
BBSAD BBSAD.CFG LOCAL
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.ADDING ADS TO YOUR BBSAD DOOR
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You must edit BBS.LST. You will find this is easy to
edit. Simply add the ad on the next line below the
last line. If you want you can color code the ad by
using \c, \f, and \b switches.
\f switch to change foreground color:
use numbers 00 to 15 after the \f
example: \f07
\b switch to change background color:
use numbers 00 to 07 after the \b
example: \b01
\c switch to change everything at once:
this combines \f and \b in that order.
example: \c07:01
Now, to add your ad, you must copy the ad file to the following files,
as appropraite:
AD#.ASC is the ad file for ASCII ads
AD#.ANS is the ad file for ANSI ads
AD#.RIP is the ad file for RIP ads
where # is the number of the advertisement. You do not need to have all
three of these. You would be fine if you just used .ANS files!
I am too tired to write a nice doc. If you want make a better copy and
upload it to me and whatever bye have a nice day
