(everyone rise!) Thanks Seth Able!! (you may sit now) And many thanks to
Korombos, the maker of SHARKware's IGM Door Driver, the door driver just
for LORD IGM's!! And especially to my girlfriend Scarlett (thats her
handle)!! She gave me some great ideas, and encouragement!
What IS Across the Tracks?
--------------------------
It's a LORD IGM (of course)...send your players "across the tracks" to hang
out in the ghetto. The player "hangs out" on the street, where random events
take place, until it's time to "book". Lots of choices on what to do, and
lots of random results keep it interesting! Some examples of events:
Meet the Bum, hang out with him, or kill him. Meet a guy who will take you
to a girls apartment. Meet the Mayor of the city. Meet the Small Arms
dealer, who will trade your weapon for his. Go to the adoption agency.
Registration:
-------------
v5 is FreeWare.
SetUp:
------
Easy! Just put ACT.EXE, ACT.CFG and ACTCFG.EXE in a directory of your
choice, then run ACTCFG.EXE and pick the INSTALL option. Then pick the
CONFIGURE option to change the ACT.CFG file.
To uninstall, pick the UNINSTALL option. This will remove ACT from your
3rdparty.dat file, but won't erase any files.
The game will make an ACT.DAT file when first played.
The ACT.CFG file is a plain text file. Edit it manually, or use the
CONFIGURE option in ACTCFG.EXE. It's layout is like this:
BBS NAME
PAWN SHOP OWNERS NAME
MAX # of TURNS
REGISTRATION #
GHETTO NAME
so for example my act.cfg file looks like this:
ToasterLand
Toaster
4
12345
West Gate
**v5 Note: The registration number can be anything now, I just didnt want
to change the data file.
Also, in case something goes wrong, make sure when you installed it
added these 2 lines to your 3rdparty.dat file:
C:\BBS\LORD\ACT\ACT.EXE * C:\BBS\LORD <--or whatever your LORD directory is
`0Across the Tracks
