VER DATE What's New
----- -------- --------------------------------------------------------
1.97ß2 05/05/94 Moved chunks of common code into dawglib.lib for ease
of use/maintenance. >Might< release the library for use
by others, haven't decided yet. Optimized code somewhat.
Now uses the naming convention of NET34, P-0-1.NET instead
of P1.NET.
1.97ß1 05/02/94 Recoded add programs to use same version numbers, so
DMTiny/DMMail are now at 1.97ß1 as well. DMMail will
now allow you to send multimail on *all* of your networks
easily, has the select a network option on it's menu.
Now compatible with The Bishops ASV mod completely. See
Dawg19b.mod (included). Fixed code in both Dmail/DMTiny
for this to work. DMcfg now shows the number of times
DMail has been used. Will now 'ping' me every so often
if you are using the program. I am >not< pinging the
network, I will merely receive a <80byte message every
so often from Dmail users. If anyone has a problem with
this practice, I'm sorry, but it seems to be the best
arrangement (at least that was the opinion on Network
Concerns), and you always have the option of using a
program other than Dmail. :)
1.96R 04/02/94 Reworked the cleanup nets code so that it actually worked
all the time. At the request of a user (Trojan 1@6457),
Dmail can send the newuser email from anyone. This option
is toggleable in dmcfg. Dmcfg will update the dmail.cfg
file to include the new variables, Dmail won't run unless
you first do this. Now able to post on ALPHA subs. This
works from the command line or interactively. If you use
the command line, you also must use /A instead of /P to
enter the alpha subtype. Now also comes with DMMAIL.EXE
which sends network multimail. At this point, this is
pretty much just the old code thrown together; however,
in the future it will be made nicer. Fixed the cleanup
networks code so that it works all the time. :) Also
the command line options (/Mx) now actually match the
options in the program itself. Added an eight option to
Dmail. It allows you to select a network to run on. This
way you can send mail, etc. to a network other than your
first one without having to specify it on the command
line. There has been some question regarding registration,
it is >$15< currently and will be that until v2.00 is
release at which time it >will< go up.
1.94ß 03/10/94 Unfixed the spawning code as it was contributing to mail
all users problems. That portion of the code has been
significantly rewritten and should work now. Also added
rudimentary code for mail certain users (the search specs)
to the config file.
1.93ß 02/21/94 Fixed some code regarding spawning and such. DV users
>can< be having problems with newuser email. The problem
is a lack of memory. The newuser event does >NOT< shrink
out therefore we have to managed dmail and network2 with
little memory. In dos and/or OS/2 not a problem. In DV
it can be. So this release also comes with DMTINY.EXE.
It is a less memory intensive newuser emailer. Hopefully
this will fix some people's problems. If not about all
I can do for them is to dig out the old mod for this and
recode it. One note, DMTINY will >ONLY< function if
DMAIL is registered. If you use DMTINY, the command
line for INIT is DMTINY /C%1.
1.92ß 01/23/94 Added code to handle multi-instances for newuser email,
if it works well, will also add for ASV. Removed one
of the libraries I was using so the display has lost
a bit, but it will be replaced by a different one in the
next full release (date ???). Also now gives an exit code
upon termination of the program. Should aid in future
debugging.
1.90ß 12/16/93 Removed the multimail code from Dmail. Will likely release
a separate .exe with the code in there, but makes little
sense to include here anymore. Improved user interface
when ran interactively. Program now spawns network2 during
newuser email since the mod\batch file method for that
is no longer required. Improved the mail all users command
to only mail users who are 'active', deleted accounts are
now skipped. Display has been improved in many places as
well. Only a >5< second delay in the unregistered version.
1.84ß 10/08/93 Fixed some sloppy code in both Dmail and Dmcfg (v1.04).
Released as a beta version pending a rewritten v2.00 of
Dmail/Dmcfg. Also the program will now search for the
first available p?.net file instead of automatically using
p2.net. This made more sense as some programs (ie clout)
only look for p0 and p1 files.
