DISTRIBUTION OF THE REGISTERED KEY WILL INVALIDATE YOUR KEY IN ALL FUTURE
VERSIONS OF THIS PROGRAM AND NO PRODUCT SUPPORT WILL BE GIVEN.
DISTRIBUTION:
=============
You may make this file available for downloading from your BBS or you may
upload it to any BBS of your choice, provided that you do not make any
changes to the contents of the archive (ZIP file).
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
====================
TriWhoCalledRecently is designed to generate both ANSI and ASCII screens,
which contain a listing of recent callers of your TriBBS BBS. TriWCR list
up to 32 different callers of your BBS, whether or not each is a new user,
the number of times each has called your BBS during the day, and the time
each caller last logged off from your BBS. Also, TriWCR displays the time
of the first call your BBS received, and the total number of calls received
by your BBS during the day. Plus, the sysop can indicate up to 6 users
he/she does not want to be displayed. (For example: You, the sysop, might
not want your name listed, etc.) The same might be true for the co-sysop.
TriWhoCalledRecently's bulletins display the names, and other information as
described above, of up to 32 different recent callers during the current date.
The current date being the date it is each day. Bulletins are updated after
each call during a given day (See INSTALLATION below), and begin anew after
the first call of each day.
NOTE:
=====
The TRIWCR.KEY file that is distributed with this program does NOT expire!
This is simply here so the door has a KEY to read. When you register,
you will receive a new TRIWCR.KEY file, which will remove the UNREGISTERED
notice from the bulletins, and display the name of your BBS, etc.
FEATURES:
=========
--- Easy to set up.
--- BETA tested on a TriBBS BBS.
--- Support BBS available.
--- Generates ANSI and ASCII bulletins.
--- One time registration fee good for any future version.
INSTALLATION:
=============
1. Place three files, (TRIWCR.CFG, TRIWCR.EXE, and TRIWCR.KEY), in your
main TriBBS directory. (Example: C:\TRIBBS)
2. Using a text editor, edit the TRIWCR.CFG file to include the required
information as shown in the example below.
The File Cabinet BBS <-- The name of your BBS.
Bob Harmon <-- Sysop's FIRST and LAST name.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\BULLET11.BBS <-- Path to your ASCII bulletin.
C:\TRIBBS\DISPLAY\BULLET11.ANS <-- Path to your ANSI bulletin.
Bob Harmon <-- Names of up to 6 users
John Doe <-- you do NOT want to be
Jane Doe <-- displayed in the ANSI
Jim Doe <-- and ASCII bulletins which
Constance Doe <-- are generated by TriWCR.
James Doe <--
If you do not have any user(s) you wish not displayed in
the bulletins, then simply do not enter any. If you have
one then enter the name of the one, if you have two then
enter the names of the two, etc.
The path to your ASCII and ANSI bulletins MUST include
the filename of both your ASCII and ANSI bulletins.
3. TriWhoCalledRecently is executed with the following command.....
TRIWCR C:\TRIBBS\MWORK\CALLERS.LOG
Note: The complete path and filename to the CALLERS.LOG file MUST be
included in the command.
TriWhoCalledRecently can be executed from the TriBBS BETWEEN.BAT file,
which will result in TriWhoCalledRecently generating updated bulletins
between each call. Therefore, using a text editor, edit the BETWEEN.BAT
file located in your main TriBBS directory, and add the required
information as shown in the example below.
TRIWCR C:\TRIBBS\MWORK\CALLERS.LOG
Note: For additional information on the use of the BETWEEN.BAT file,
please refer to your TriBBS manual.
MAINTENANCE:
============
TriWhoCalledRecently analyzes the CALLERS.LOG file, and should continue to
work properly as long as the CALLERS.LOG file is available for analysis.
If no CALLERS.LOG file is present, TriWhoCalledRecently should simply exit
from execution.
FUTURE VERSIONS:
================
I have some ideas.
PROBLEMS:
========
Hopefully, there will not be any problems. But if you encounter any,
please let me know.
